Recognizing the extensive administrative, diplomatic, and organizational work Helaw has performed in the six regions under the banner of the Augustin Alliance, helping to create and maintain a secure union for over 650 unique nations; inciting activity, helping to solve problems and defuse conflicts thoughtfully as they arise, and aiding the alliance to the victories of the two worldwide nuclear wars, popularized as "N-Day",
Acknowledging Helaw’s tenure as delegate in the Ridgefield, the first of the recently rebuilt region, and in Conch Kingdom, where they composed an astonishing 57 voting recommendations, emphasizing the progressive and transparent attitude Helaw has shown in regards to the World Assembly, setting a steady foundation that allowed the two regions to grow, even in the wake of a temporary dissolution of the Augustin Alliance,
Lauding the character of their influence on the development of both Ridgefield, where they currently serve as Judge, to become the most active World Assembly-only region in the world - home to 64 active nations, and Tempest, a rapidly growing, strictly democratic region with a sophisticated political system, by the puppet founding nation Ventus Imperatoris,
Extolling Helaw’s duty to the creation, organization, and administration of both the Augustin Alliance community forum, one of the largest and most active in the world, and an issue discussion forum which extended constructive advice and criticism, to countless novice and experienced nations alike, in bringing relevant global issues to light in the most efficient and eloquent manner,
Furthermore awed by the magnanimity of Helaw’s scope of work in the international community,
Bringing attention to the national issue of potential peril posed by petitions in ‘Playful Petitions Pester Politicians.’
GA#402 “Repeal: ‘World Assembly Central Medicinal Database Compact’”, which sought to end ineffective regulatory legislation.
SC#235 “Commend Candlewhisper Archives”, which duly recognized the tremendous services of a fellow nation prominent in the international community.
Asserting that the nation of Helaw has diligently served as a prime example for excellence, efficiency, and tenacity to each and every state of the international community;
Hereby commends Helaw.

I don't know Helaw, and I've not heard of him until reading this Commendation. That's a point to think about, both in terms of what his impact level has actually been on gameplay and that I probably need to get out into the world a bit more. Barring that small caveat I do believe that Benevolent Thomas' and Yuno's endorsements of the commendation carry a good deal of weight. The biggest endorsement of this commendation I received was from Vapid.
For such well known and respected players to have this high of opinion of him is a big deal, and suggests that he is truly deserving of the commendation. Detractors might likely point out his newness to the game, his decision to keep his work confined mostly to the AA, or the possibility of his achievements being more indicative of August's achievements than his own. After trying to find out more about Helaw I believe that all three of these criticisms are likely simplifications of scenarios that the detractors don't understand. Is he new to the game? Yes, but circa two years is well enough time to make a huge impact with the right work ethic. Is he confined to the AA? Not really. His work contributing issues and his non AA region Tempest need to be taken into account. And don't we applaud the focus of regionalism over the visibility of cosmopolitanism anyways? Is he "riding August's coattails" as Benevolent Thomas asked on the forum thread? Not likely. He has a wealth of achievements and work that are his own.And it's not just that he's doing these things that's impressive
It's that he's a new player
And yet has the same level of competency as August
Like, he is not even 2 years old on this game
And while, yes, he's doing stuff in the AA
That stuff is pretty integral
He is the reason that Ridgefield is as prim and proper as it is
He's the admin of the AA discord
He is the only candidate who could possibly run the AA in the event of August's disappearance.
In that sense, Helaw is more than the sum of his parts
In terms of the actual commendation, I believe it's a bit underwritten and could do more to communicate to us who Helaw really is. It gives us figures and the occasional buzzworthy phrase but doesn't quite elaborate on why these figures are important or what made Helaw's accomplishments special. And it uses a lot of commas. An unreasonable amount of commas. Comma splices everywhere. I had to search outside of the Security Council for information on Helaw which the common nation is not going to do. Because of that it's hard for me to get behind this specific commendation.
I suggest that Helaw is in fact worthy of this commendation effort but I wish it was written better. In that vein I abstain from making a recommendation in hopes that Her Owly Magnificence and the rest of Osiris takes a hard look at the proposal before making a decision.
