Adytus for Chief Scribe! [justify]Hi everyone!
Another three months has come and gone. It moves faster every time I stand in an election, but at the same time, it can be the longest three months, ever. Not that this is a bad thing; I love the work, and the job! However, I believe this will be the last time I run for Chief Scribe, at least for awhile. I would like to develop more of an interest in other aspects of the game, such as the World Assembly, issue writing, newspapers, and continuing to do everything I can here at home, of course! Osiris is an absolutely wonderful place, and I enjoy every second of it. This place has taken off since I have started here, and lots of things have changed, pushing us past the nonsense view of illegitimate to a real, and working community that people cannot ignore. We have undergone a lot, worked on a lot, and we still have much more work to go! But I have solid faith that we will be able to overcome any challenge that we as a community may face, and I would be honored to continue to serve as Chief Scribe for the people that make it possible.
Obviously, for anyone that does not know me, I am the Anarchic Republic of Adytus, but you are welcome to call me Adytus, or just Ady if you like! Wrektopia calls me dAdytus, and every other creative name he can think of under the sun, so it does not matter to me! I have been in Osiris for almost a full year now, and I look forward to crossing that mark with pride! In my time here, I have had the honor of being elected to the office of Chief Vizier twice, Chief Scribe once, and appointed to the Council of Guardians by the Pharaoh, which I take extreme pride in! Furthermore, I was and currently am the Vizier of World Assembly Affairs, a job a really enjoy doing. In addition to that, I have an interest in just about everything from Role-playing, to writing World Assembly proposals, to spamming my brains out on the can. In all that time here, I try to make myself as available as possible to answer questions, help people with whatever they may need, and contribute to whatever I can. You are always welcome to send me a message on discord, a telegram, or a message on the forum. Whatever means you believe is best, and I will get back to you as soon as possible! I started NationStates last April, so I have crossed my year’s mark too! What a road that has been, plenty of ups and downs, but overall, amazing! I was originally a member of Lazarus, but that quickly changed for a variety of reasons, mainly Osiris just being way better, number one in fact. I certainly love it.
As far as this next term for Chief Scribe goes, I plan to tackle the issue of culture this term, and further develop the idea of Osiris culture through the legislator. The Regional Currency Act was a good start, but I would like to consider more serious options, something that everyone can get behind. Don’t get me wrong, though, I love a good, funny proposal. I think it helps keep people’s interest in what is otherwise a boring system for many. So I believe those types of proposals should continue to be a thing if it means we have more people interested in legislation. Moreover, there are always more loopholes that need to get fixed, and I would like to close as many of them up as possible. We discovered one just yesterday during the nomination process! Haha. Most of my deputies have been pretty good too, but before I reappoint or appoint anyone, if I win, I plan to get a solid understanding of everyone’s interest in developing legislation, and helping to conduct Scribe business before a new team is appointed. I just want to make sure we have the best people for the job! As far as getting things to vote on time, and conducting normal Scribe business, I believe there has been zero issue this term with lateness. I am always around, so hopefully there should be little concern for actually posting things that are at vote, discussion, etc.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
- Lazarus – I just became a judge in Lazarus, but the system there seems to be a bit more than broken. I may or may not be an actual judge depending on however you translate their constitution. So I guess, as it stands right now, I am suppose to decide with the other judges whether we are all judges or not, unless the legislative takes up that responsibility, or something else breaks and sends everything else that is broken into a tailspin. But before that, I was just a citizen that hardly did much but vote, and talk from time to time.
- Balder – I have citizenship there, although I believe my nation there died a while ago. I may need to check on that!
- The East Pacific – I have citizenship in the East Pacific too, but I have literally done nothing since I got there, and may just let that die off. Nothing really keeps my interest like Osiris. I believe I am a one-region kind of guy. I don’t know how Yuno does it!
