Address from the Pharaoh of Osiris
On the Appointment of Biyah to the Office of Chief Vizier
Residents and citizens of Osiris, esteemed diplomats representing our allies and friends abroad, and observers throughout the world who have taken an interest in our great region:
For the past ten days, citizens of Osiris have been deliberating over two strong campaigns for Chief Vizier. Both candidates offered strong visions for the future of Osiris and we can be sure that both will continue to make valuable contributions to Osiris as we move forward. On behalf of the people of Osiris, congratulations to both candidates for a well run campaign that focused on positive ideas for the future of our region, continuing the precedent of clean campaigning set by the candidates in our first election for Chief Vizier. Congratulations to former Chief Vizier Ridersyl, as well, for serving as a model of dedication to Osiris during his term as Chief Vizier.
In the months ahead, our Council of Viziers will undertake important projects to build on the gains we have already made and to move Osiris ever forward -- with particular focus on recruitment, integration, foreign affairs, and military advancement.
The Council will focus first and foremost on recruitment, guided by the conviction that the growth of our community is the first and most important responsibility of Osiran government. In order to grow we must not be afraid to depart from previously unquestioned norms rooted in defunct paradigms, which means that we must not be afraid to engage in telegram recruitment of newly created nations. We know that Feeders and Sinkers engaging in telegram recruitment is a novel concept, and we will reach out to our allies and friends in the Feeders to ensure open dialogue in which we will do our best to address any concerns. Nonetheless, it is our unequivocal, sovereign right to engage in telegram recruitment, just as countless user-created regions do every day. Our government will begin exercising our sovereign right to recruit as soon as is practical.
While recruitment is vitally important, it comes to nothing without integration and retention. The Council will make much more regular use of in-game technology to increase interest in Osiris and promote greater participation. We will continue to promote use of our regional forum, and will streamline access to participation by directly communicating with new citizens to get them more involved. Our government will also seek to use our new Discord server to its maximum potential as an easily accessible way to get residents of Osiris and visitors from abroad immediately involved in our community.
In foreign affairs, the Council will focus on the important work of building the bonds of friendship and solidarity that are far more important to the strength and longevity of alliances than any words in a treaty can be. We will immediately set to work with Lone Wolves United to organize a festival to celebrate ratification of the Treaty of Lycopolis. Our government will also reach out to our other formal allies to renew the bonds between our regions and engage in joint events and activities. We will not limit engagement to treaty allies, but will also engage with informal allies, our fellow raiders to whom we pledge our loyalty in a spirit of brotherly unity. The Council will fully integrate Osiris into the raider brotherhood of regions and ensure that we are making significant, positive contributions to raider unity.
It should come as no surprise, with our diplomatic focus on raider unity, that military advancement will continue to be an important focus of the Council. The Legion will continue the policies enacted by Marshal General Fedele that have already lead to a successful stealth training operation and streamlined our enlistment process. Rather than focusing on outnumbering defenders, the Legion will concentrate on outwitting them with a continued emphasis on stealth operations. The Legion will continue to work with our allies and friends, raider regions as well as imperialist and independent regions active in raiding, to advance raiding on the field of battle. Our government will seek to provide all the resources at our disposal, both military and diplomatic, to support any such region that maintains goodwill toward Osiris.
While these will be the major priorities of the Council, they do not constitute an exhaustive list of efforts our government will undertake. We will seek the expansion of community events and activities geared toward casual conversation and social games, the kind of community activity that has always most appealed to Osirans. We will seek to increase our presence and impact in the World Assembly. We will work together to ensure the stability and security of our regional community. Finally, the Council will continue to examine our laws and put forward legislation to improve our institutions and make them work better for Osirans. We have established a solid foundation, but now is not the time to rest on our laurels; now is the time to build.
It gives me great pride to once and for all set aside the divisions that have plagued Osiris in the past, and to appoint Biyah as Chief Vizier of Osiris, following his election by a majority of the Council of Scribes to manage the Council of Viziers. Please join me in congratulating Biyah on his election and appointment, and in wishing him well as we work together, as partners in a united Osiris, to build upon the foundation of brotherhood that has opened up a new world of limitless opportunities.
May the gods of the Nile turn their gaze favorably upon the Osiris Fraternal Order, and may our brotherhood endure forever.
