GOVERNMENT NEWS
It's big news this time for the government. Following hotly contested elections we have a new government and a lot of new blood in the halls of power.
PREMIER ELECTION
When nominations opened Matthew Vinage nominated himself along with DaveIronside (who later withdrew) and Genstatum. Both candidates put forward their manifesto, the Great Revival campaign by Matthew Vinage focused on pushing the Order deeper into game-play of the NS World while looking to push for better integration of newer users. Meanwhile Genstatum For Government pushed for a focus on recruitment and making our role play world more accessible as well as simplifying the legislation of the Independent Order.
There was also a Candidates debate where each of them laid out their plans for the region and answered questions put forward by the region. When election time came round it was a close affair with Genstatum taking the victory 5 votes to 4.
Controversially the Vice Chancellor nominated Bob The Builder who despite being disqualified also received one vote (from the Vice Chancellor). Bob was unavailable for comment.
SENATE ELECTION
With eight candidates putting themselves up for election it meant that seven seats would be up for grabs. With each of the candidates putting forward their cases it returned a senate full of new blood along with a few returning faces. The current senate is now made up of Achkaerin
, Gadshack, Genstatum, Magicon, Autarch, Verover and Strathakoka. Their first order of business was to select a speaker from amongst their number, usually a notoriously slow process this time it ran smoothly and the position is now filled by Verover who has nominated Autarch as his deputy. We wish them good luck herding the Senate.
NEW CABINET
With a new Premier comes a new cabinet. Matthew Vinage will be the Vice Premier following his close battle with Genstatum for the Premiership, he also takes over at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs replacing DaveIronside who moves back to the Ministry of Culture. Achkaerin remains as Attorney General while Gadshack takes over as Ministry of Defence.

MICRONATION MADNESS With the virus that spread through Zimalia seemingly slowing down the Borlanders have established a small settlement and claimed it as an independent nation. Meanwhile a secret agent from Genstatum has sneaking into the settlement posing as a journalist in an attempt to find out what is really going on there.
MATERNA'S WRATH It's all kicked off. With Marseille having been infiltrated by the religious cult of Materna all manner of terrorism has been spreading around the globe. When Nya Aland was the victim they responded by bombing a terrorist training camp, after lying to the world that the Alanders had bombed a school a host of ICBM type missiles where launched killing 2,000 in Nya Aland. The Nordic nation then fired six missiles back aimed at crippling the nations infastructure. Following this the commanders of CTO's mission to Marseille stepped in sending Nya Aland to the naughty step. Meanwhile Neuva Ardia's forces attached to CTOMM seem to have gone rouge and kicked off the operation without authorisation.
WANT A TRAIN...CALL DARTFORDIA The Genstatum government are looking to improve their nations infrastructure, so who do you call......that's right the regions train loving nation of Dartfordia. Negotiations are still on going but a trade deal looks likely.
FESTIVAL OF SAIL With East Moreland's martime festival in full swing various VIP's have arrived in the nation to enjoy the festivities. The Emperor of Cohidina is making his first public appearence with his new boyfriend, the 2 year old Princess of East Moreland wandered off and got lost and two Nueva Ardians are wandering around causing mischief.
MATILDA CONFERENCE With a new Neuva Ardian government and an economy seemingly ready to collapse the nation controlling the vital Matilda Canals sea corridor has called a conference aimed at ensuring the economic stability of the region.
NORDS GET A SLAP ON THE WRIST Following their retaliatroy strike against the Sorority of Materna based in Marseille the nation of Rokkenjima , commanding CTOMM, has issued a statement demanding the Nords do not take further action. This has been seen as CTOMM denying the Alanders chance to defend themselves.
BLOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR Using infected blood taken from Zimalia a group of Borlanders have infiltrated East Moreland and are merrily setting about infecting people with the virus. One victim however was from Verover and has now taken the virus there causing panic.
COMMONWEALTH TREATY ORGANISATION ROUND UP
The replacement Security Council member was elected and Rokkenjima will be taking that seat.
With most of the period CTO action being focused on the Materna/Marseille issue things at CTO HQ have been reasonably quiet.
SPORTS ROUND UP
NORDS TAKE CHAMPIONSHIP Following a 2-1 victory in Achkaerin the final of the Champions League saw IFK Krokom of Nya Aland defeat Northfort United of East Moreland in extra time. That brings the curtain down on the first ever tournament. Thanks to Achkaerin for organising the event.
RUGBY WORLD CUP BEGINS The regions first ever rugby world cup has begun in Quinntopia. With East Moreland the hotly tipped favourites it is likely to be a fiercely fought contest as their long time rivals Dijel are in an opposing group it is likely they will avoid each other until the later knock out stages.

Anyway, welcome to Gadshack’s Nueva Ardian cooking school. What’s Nueva Ardia you ask and what makes this man capable of giving cooking lessons? I’ll tell you what. Nueva Ardia is a fictional RP nation in The Independent Order, if you’re guessing by the name then you can gather its RL equivalent to many South American countries and is perhaps the source for many jokes on The Independent Order’s world of mundus ^^. But what makes me qualified to give cooking lessons? Nothing, I mean I like eating food and throughout the majority of my life I’ve enjoyed the goodness and diarrhea of latin food, my own cultural heritage. But as far as being certified? I’m hardly a chef, but I am proud of the many one thumbs up and cringing faces I’ve received when people eat my cooking
So come and join me and let’s make some gut busting, greasy, good ol Mexican food!Yo so we got to get the basics down, probably the most homemade Nueva Ardian thing to make: sopaipillas. Now these are delicious sugar coated pastries that are native to the Texas area, when I grew up in west Texas these things were a favorite of mine and therefore Nueva Ardians love them. So let’s begin!
1.)Go to your kitchen, get the biggest bowl you find for mixing and throw it on the floor as hard as you can! Yeah! Like that! If it withstands your manly or girly brute force aided by gravity then it’s Nueva Ardian certified, if not keep trying every dish in your house.
2.)At this point if you’ve thrown nothing but glass bowls on the floor and hadn’t realized you have large plastic ones, you are not a true Nueva Ardian cook, as Nueva Ardians can’t afford glass bowls

3.)Go to the store bro! Get you some flour, baking powder, LOTS of butta and I don’t mean “Oh I’m on a diet tho” butter I mean like…a lot. An alternative could be lard, a common ingredient for many things in Nueva Ardian households. For this you’d most likely have to leave your comfy suburb and head to the….’Nueva Ardian’ side of town and go to a market. Alternatively if you can’t access these things or you’re a hipster and the only thing near is a whole foods, Margarine, coconut oil, or palm oil will suffice. For you Europeans common ingredients like cristo is banned where you live
4.)Take a break ese! Shopping can be exhaustive, take a break.
5.)Do fifty jumping jacks, YOU RESTED! I’M NOT! Gotta get ready to cook man!
6.)By this time it should midnight, if not you’ve awoken the Nueva Ardian Cucuy, a mythical beast that haunts the Nueva Ardian lands <_< you need to stay up till midnight to begin cooking and the beast won’t intrude into your house. At midnight, make sure everyone in your house is asleep, as the ritual states. Get naked ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) then get two pans and clang them as hard as you can together, do this until your family is waken up. If you don’t have a family too bad, the Cucuy will eat you. After you’ve done this, you will might be excused from the midnight cooking…
7.)After you’re banned from the kitchen for a few weeks, when you get your privileges back begin cooking at approximately 4:00PM where ever you live. Get the bowl you didn’t break and begin mixing the flour, baking powder, some kind of oil or fat together in the bowl, remember to add water and continue mixing until it’s nice and smooth…mmm
8.)Let it stand for several minutes, about thirty will do. While waiting take a shower.
9.)Get out the shower, dry yourself, do whatever and get back In the kitchen. Do twenty pushups before continuing, if you can’t do that then you’re a failure to humanity.
10.) Get out a board, wooden preferably and flour the surface up, don’t worry if your hands are turning white…this is normal.
11.) After that, get yo dough and roll it across the board making it very thin.
12.) Memorize the lyrics to the Mexican anthem….in spanish
13.) Cut the flat dough layout into squares, small ones…I’d say like four inches.
14.) Go buy a fryer, heat it up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
15.) Drop the lil things in there! Fry till golden brown, while waiting…kneel down and thank all the underpaid workers who helped gather these cooking materials so you can mess this up =)
16.) If you don’t have a fryer, then you can use a pan, put some oil in there and fry’em that way!
17.) Sprinkle sugar aaaaaall over them, eat them with honey as a condiment
Now this is one of the most simple Nueva Ardian cooking techniques, next week we will move on the intermediate and we will make…tortillas.

Question 1) What's your favorite pizza topping?
"Pepperoni"
Question 2) Sticking with food what's your food heaven and food hell?
"Heaven would have to be to be cheesecake especially if Lydia makes it. Hell well that has got to be lobster."
Question 3) What was your favorite subject at school and why?
"I always liked history, I guess because it's something that can be so relevant and yet irrelevant at the same time."
Question 4) Snog, Marry, Avoid- Emperor Alexander Anselmo, King David III, Archon Joshua Rhodes?
"Oh tough one especially since they're all a little old for me. Snog Alex, probably marry Joshua and sadly avoid David."
Question 5) You get to ask a genie one question. It doesn't matter what you ask, but you will get a 100% honest and truthful answer – what would you ask?
"Is my Aplastic Anemia ever going to resurface?"
Question 6) At home what do you do to unwind?
"Generally I'm either shooting hoops on the basketball court or I'll be in the library reading, failing that I'll be on my balcony stargazing."
Question 7) What are your favorite book and film?
"Got to go with 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' for my favorite book. As for a film that's even tougher but I'll say 'Amazing Grace', a truly heart warming film that is."
Question 8) Who do you consider to be your closest friends outside Achkaerin?
"Well obviously there's Isaac Wesley of Supreme Sovereignty but I guess probably my best friend outside the country is Princess Georgia of Dartfordia, you wouldn't believe the text messages she sends me."
Question 9) What do you think the Mundus Youth Assembly can do?
"I hope it can give the young people of Mundus a voice and Gods willing we'll make it a voice that'll be difficult to ignore especially if we can get it under the umbrella of the CTO."
Question 10) What's it like to be an 'Aunt' to Charlotte Wilmington?
"Pretty fun actually, though not so fun when the resort you went to gets bombed. Though I haven't had to win Charlotte a stuffed animal in a while."
Question 11) You've recently graduated from Achkaerin's military academy are you looking forward to military service?
"It's always an honor to be able to serve your country, I just get to command a tank when I do it, same way as my Dad got to command a frigate, same way as my brother gets to fly a plane. No one particularly wants to go into a battlefield but if that call comes I'll be ready for it."
Question 12) What's this we hear about a strange 17th birthday present?
"Ah yes, Isaac gave me a Sovreigntyian wolf cub for my 17th birthday. It was quite the surprise, even more surprising is that the cub's settled in nicely with the fox's the family keeps. He's called Alex, but I won't say why lest I give a certain friend of the family ideas."

THE VOTES ARE IN - MUNDOSVISION East Moreland's Katrina and The Waves won the first ever MundoVision Song Contest.
ROKKENJIMA CONDEMN UNILATERAL ACTION Pyrena Castle has offered a scathing rebuke of unilateral actions undertaken by Nya Åland and Nueva Adria, saying the actions of both parties "undermine the CTOMM mission and put more lives at risk than what they hoped to save." Calling the actions of both states "reckless and irresponsible"
GENSTATUM COMMIT TO CTOMM Following recent developments surrounding the CTOMM (Commonwealth Treaty Organization Mission in Marseilles), the Genstatum military has decided to commit military assets to the operation intended to combat the Sorority of Materna. Despite the fatal terrorist attacks by the Sorority of Materna against the citizens of Genstatum, the government has, until now, not enacted any military action against the group.
OUTBREAK IN VEROVER The Department of Health and the Department of Homeland Security have discovered that a new and dangerous virus has entered Verover and is posing the largest national security threat to the nation since the Fascist regime.
TRAIN ATTACKED IN NYA ALAND The 7:30 am commuter train into the town of Estwald was partially destroyed in a terrorist attack. As the train was full of people making their way into work two explosions happened in one of the carriages. Eye witnesses said that they believe the devices were hidden in bins as they first saw smoke coming from them before the explosion ripped through the cabin.
PATTER OF TINY FEET In a surprise release from Seaforth Castle, made in conjunction with a similar announcement made by Evanthe Anselmo, Archon Joshua Rhodes was quite obviously happy to reveal the pregnancy of his fiance, Evanthe Anselmo. Archon Rhodes would not conform how far along the Princess of Arovium is, but he did conform that, if a boy, the child will be named Josiah after his paternal grandfather.
ANDEAN REFERENDUM The results are in! And the Republic of Nueva Ardia is chosen as the people’s state! In addition Tero Melos with demand and no opposition has been deemed ‘Presidente’, the Head of State and Government
PRINCE JAMES ESCAPES AGAIN Following being spotted in a religious community the runaway convict former Prince James Ironside narrowly avoided capture. Local Police stormed the building and one young girl was seriously injured in a shooting.
SOUTH HILLS EMBARRASSMENT AT FESTIVAL OF SAIL The President of South Hills was forced to walk the final couple hundred feet entering the Festival of Sail as his limousine bottomed out entering the complex.
PITTER PATTER OF TINY FEET The Marble Palace has today released a statement announcing that the Sheriff of Neo Gowu and wife of Prince Simon, Lydia Daniels is approximately six weeks pregnant. The pregnancy has been welcomed in the Senate with party leaders taking it in turns to offer their congratulations
NUEVA ARDIA KICK OUT BUSINESSES in an overwhelming legislative vote by the National Caucus all Oil, farming, food distribution and mining companies are ordered to vacate Nueva Ardia, with government armed forces monitoring their leave out of the country. One of the first bills by the new government highlights the goal of ‘returning the land and fair wages to the people’ and ‘halting corporate imperialism on the Nueva Ardian people.
WIND FARM OPENS Delliat- Daniat's second largest wind farm, located off the coast of Daniat in the Mhorish Sea began full operations today. Expected to generate over 600MW, the wind farm will be able to power of 90,000 homes. The farm is 10 miles off the coast of Daniat, with the tiny fishing village of Delliat being the closest town to the farm.
ROYAL ARREST David Rhys, former Emperor of Cohdinia and father of the current Emperor, Daryen Rhys the fifth, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy against Cohdinia. Just days ago, leaked text messages hinted at the man's involvement in the bombings that had taken place weeks ago,
EMPRESS VISIT TO JENKA NOT WELCOME Protests have once against sparked to life in the city of Jenka-Jenkinson, following the announcement by Pyrena Castle that the Empress of Rokkenjima would be visiting the city. More than 500 Dartfordian protestors have already entered market square, which was site of Dartfordian protests for the past week, mid-way through the cleanup operation.
