Hello Friends To all those that read this update we bid them greetings. With our Imperial succession assured all is well in the Kingdom of Great Britain, which is not only achieved by patriotic citizens within the region, but by our many friends abroad. We want to show our sincere gratitude to all those that show friendship to our beloved region. May our friendship continue to blossom and grow.

The Monarchy The word of the month is: "Rejoice." Her Britannic Highness Princess Adelaide has found true love. A young charming and decidedly articulate soul named William Mikaelson. Upon their wedding day he did take up the name Bowes-Lyon, in what this writer can observe to be a matrilineal arrangement. Having taking up the Princess Name the two are rumored to spend their days in a beautiful oasis creating the next generation of royals. Upon his return our young William will be serving as our newest and most beloved Earl. Rejoicing to be had by all as we have gained a son and friend most exceptional in his quality.
His Royal Majesty King Konstantin Second of That Name has recently made a most tremendous announcement. He has declared that Prince Valerian, also known as Prince Valerian the Vacant, has been replaced by Princess Anne as the Princess of Wales. This dramatically alters the future of the region and the course of the monarchy for all eternity. Princess Anne has proved to be the first heir to the throne who is actually active in the region. It is most assured that she will use her keen experience in her career field in RL to enhance the region as the King delegates more and more to Her Britannic Highness.

The Regent Speaks With our king on holiday, the Princess of Wales, Anne holds the title of regent over the region. Recently she released a public statement
Statement from the Regent
01.08.2014
My respects to His Majesty King Konstantin the Second, and his Consort, our dear Queen Cielly. All my love to my Lord Husband, Prince Fanix, and our beloved House of Fortier. My salutations to the members of the government, and to each and every citizen of our region.
It has been almost a month since my investiture as the Princess of Wales and I have had the opportunity to step into the role of Regent while His Majesty attends to matters of greater importance and, hopefully, take a much-needed respite. Believe me when I say that the shoes I am filling in for at the moment is a very, very large and challenging pair.
Through it all, I take this moment to express my gratitude for the support of all citizens of the Kingdom of Great Britain. Every idea put forth, every parry of opinions, every precious post has ultimately shaped the culture, the brand, the spirit of Great Britain. Each member is a crucial part, and all irreplaceable. I thank you, and I hope for your continued support.
As we continue our journey, let us aspire for what we really desire: a vibrant region where everyone may have the loveliest experience NationStates can give. That is what our region is for me. May we continue to adventure on, with courage and unity, to keep our Kingdom of Great Britain ever young, ever growing, ever glorious.
May God bless you all.
God Save the Empire and Long Live our King!

Parliament HIBM Konstantin II recently reformed Parliament to spark new life into the regions legislature. Instead of having two chambers, the Kingdom of Great Britain will have one chamber consisting of 3 appointed Lords and 4 elected MPs. Results from a survey conducted by the BBC show the majority of citizens supported the change, while a significant amount of citizens thinks the future will tell if the change was necessary.
Following the Parliament reforms, elections were called. Many citizens were keen to elect active citizens to Parliament following the previous term. A parliamentary debate was held with Parliaments relationship with the Executive and Speaking Rights of the Prime Minister among the topics discussed. Akillian Talleyrand, Stefan Mikaelson, Albert Fominov, and Takanashi were elected to Parliament. The results were:
Richard Middleton - 8 (12.5%)
Akillian Talleyrand - 16 (25%)
Gotenx - 7 (10.9%)
Albert Fominov - 11 (17.2%)
Stefan Mikaelson - 12 (18.8%)
Takanashi - 10 (15.6%)
Following the election, The Princess Royal, Prince Alexander and Cameron M. O'Neill were appointed to Parliament. Within the first few weeks of the new Parliament, Albert Fominov faced a vote of no confidence and was removed due to inactivity. A by-election for the constituency of Wales was held and was won by William Bettingham. The results were:
William Bowes-Lyon - 6 (31.6%)
William Bettingham - 13 (68.4%)

Summer! To celebrate the beginning of the Summer Holidays for many citizens of the Kingdom, a festival was held for several weeks upon Festival Island. Prime Minister Huxwells started it all off with an inspiring opening speech, and then the fun truly started. People could talk about the World Cup in the Stadium, where discussions were held on which team would win, and what the best moments were so far. Of course there were also a lot of tears and anger when matches didn't go the way people wanted them to. On the Beach people partied the night away drinking cocktails and enjoying the local reggae band. Festival-goers could also chat about their ultimate holiday, as well as what they would be getting up to this Summer. The last few days of the festival a smashing beach party was held, with enough booze, fireworks and, uhm, nudity to last you a lifetime.
Of course this is only a small selection of what went on during the festival, as only if you were actually present can you truly appreciate the moments of enjoyment and bonding that went on between the citizens of the region. Hopefully the Culture Secretary and his team of Aurors can come up with many more great festivals to keep the region full of fun in the future!
