I'd like to open up discussion before we post the nominations for Atef.
The following have been nominated for a position on the Atef of Osiris:
Treize Dreizehn

Treize is, of course, an obvious choice for Atef. However, I am not really seeing that much activity out of Datford. At the moment, he only has 12 posts.

To be fair, I see your point. However the role of Atef is not necessarily based on activity.

Well, one of their duties is to protect the Pharaoh from coups and unrest (At least, if I am not mistaken) So activity is a plus.

I agree. If we are going to entrust someone with assisting in the security of the region we need to ensure that they are active. I.E. Twelve posts just aint gonna cut it.

Like I said, forum posts are not necessarily indicative of ingame activity. Zyvet, do you have a response?

I'm going to be the bad guy here and ask if we want to trust Treize Dreizehn with a high influence nation? His contrubutions to Osiris are certainly great, but that itself does not equate to trustworthiness.

I think, in Zyvet's case, that it's a matter of beggars can't be choosers and letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Zyvet has demonstrated a long-term commitment to Osiris, even if not terribly active, in that he's been here since we were the Kemetic Republic of Osiris. I had my doubts when he was nominated by Pharaoh Ravenclaw because he had just applied for OFO citizenship on the very same day -- but he's been here a while now, he's a Councilor of the Deshret, and he's volunteering. He is more active in the forum community than Revert, who has been confirmed as a Guardian and who has been serving quite well in that position. Osiris is a gameplay oriented community and we don't have many people stepping up and volunteering to station their WA nation in Osiris over the long term. Zyvet is volunteering to do that, and we should let him.
Regarding Treize, we can't ignore the events of last July. We also can't ignore that he felt an oligarchy was in control of Osiris, the very same oligarchy that the Osiris Fraternal Order permanently put out to pasture in December. Since that time, Treize has demonstrated a significant commitment to Osiris. He has served as Keeper of the Deshret, he has participated in drafting nearly every one of our laws, he has served as Scribe of Ma'at, and he has offered invaluable input on the Hedjet. He has consistently worked for the good of this region and its community. We shouldn't overlook last July but we also shouldn't let it cloud everything that has happened since December. As the person who had the unfortunate task of being Pharaoh last July, I'm willing to place my trust in Treize to serve on the Atef and I would ask the rest of the Deshret to do the same.
What is indisputable is that having one Guardian of the Atef is insufficient, so if the Deshret is uncomfortable with these nominations I do hope Councilors will step forward and volunteer to station their WA nations in Osiris over the long term. Filling these positions is vital for regional security.

I'll accept your judgement on it. Objections withdrawn.

Thanks Cassius. Thanks for bringing it up though, it was a matter that we probably did need to discuss before the confirmation vote.
