Elections!


The Ballot Box The elections have just passed and a new Prime Minister has been elected. The polls were close with 55.6% of the votes going to Cameron M. Romefeller (Ind.) and 44.4% going to Krimson Talleyrand-Oldenburg (BRP). The elections were close but in the end gave way to Prime Minister Cameron M. Romefeller. The new PM does not belong to any political party, thus, breaking the small tensions that arose between the British Royalist Party and the Torchward Party; the two biggest parties in KGB. With the elections over, Prime Minister Romefeller wasted no time in rolling out a new cabinet with only the Director General of SIS/MI5 keeping to the Government Secretary who has held that office for three terms now; The Hon. Beth. With the elections behind us, the future of KGB is looking bright as the new Cabinet, Parliament and PM get to work. The Prime Minister has outlined various things he intends to achieve such as increasing RP legislation in the region. After the election of Prime Minister Cameron M. Romefeller, it was time for the Parliamentary Elections, however, due to uncontested seats, all of those who applied for Parliament were immediately elected into office. The Hon. Huxwells Shaw maintained his Welsh seat but there were many new arrivals to the House of Commons including Alastair Montgomery for Scotland and Aaron Cerebella for Southern England. Both Charles IX and Lord Cameron also took their seats as MPs for Northern England and Ireland respectively. Shortly after the opening of Parliament by His Imperial Britannic Majesty, the House of Commons and House of Lords immediately began work on many legislations, with the RP legislation becoming an area of great attention in the House of Commons.

Knighting Ceremony During the month of March the King awarded many titles to citizens of the realm which included...

Harriet Talleyrand-Epistre - Duchess of Gloucester

There was also a Royal Investiture of Duke William Bettingham of Buckingham. The Duke of Buckingham was adopted into the Royal Family and is fashioned with the full title of His Serene Highness, Prince William, Duke of Devonshire, Duke of Calais.

A New Realm

This month also included the acceptance of the Kingdom of Elesia into the Empire of Great Britain. The King of Elesia, Aaron Cerebella, requested that Elesia join the Empire in order for mutual gain and prosperity after a deal had been made a week before regarding the future of the Kingdom of Elesia. The offer was accepted by His Imperial Britannic Majesty, King Konstantin II and Elesia became a realm within the Empire. Elesia is now prospering under the Empire's wing and prides itself in being within the Empire. Elesia retains its culture and has not been negatively influenced by the Empire. Instead, it prospers alongside the Empire as a self governing realm.
