Granted, The Turbolaser is next to you. However, it needs a power supply capable of the world's current energy output. Weighing several tons and oddly shaped, it is too expensive to send it into space, currently.

I wish for a fully operational DROID ARMY!!! under my command.

The Droid Army is fully operational, but the droid armor is made of thin sheet metal and is easily pierced by bullets, a knife or even a strong punch really.
