What are your thoughts on strengthening formal relations with the NPO?

Fair enough.Jakker wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 12:30 amThanks for the question, Fest. In its current form, I don't see the validity in devoting too much attention to having our own operations when our numbers are so low. I think we should still provide support to our allies when in need. I think we should still maintain security within our region. What I am essentially getting at is that I don't think we need a Scribe of War who can trigger and lead operations. Rather, at this moment, we need someone who can recruit, organize, and coordinate.
I don't have a specific person in mind, but I will be using that mindset when meeting with people.
1. Yes, I would like to provide scribes with the ability to communicate better with the region. Additionally, as we push for further recruitment, it would be nice to have other voices speak to citizens every now and then. Other than polls and telegrams, I am hesitant to allocate border control or appearance.Cormac wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 12:35 amHey Jakker! This looks like a pretty solid platform, and I wish you the best of luck! I do have a few questions:
1. Do you plan to make more use of Regional Officers and, if so, how?
2. In regard to the Predator crisis, how will you handle that from a foreign affairs perspective? Are you open to the possibility of terminating relations with DEN or The Black Hawks if that seems appropriate, or are you already predisposed against that course of action? Do you think your position as Chairman of the Council of the Hawks may be a hindrance to objective decision making on this issue?
3. Will you commit to not nominating a Predator user to serve as your Vizier or Scribe of War?
4. Are you at all concerned that including the Pschent, and perhaps to a lesser extent the Keeper and even the Guardians, in meetings of the Hedjet may lead to conflicts of interest that would compromise the independence of those institutions and separation of powers?
5. Will you be going back to the original blue version of the regional flag, the purple version, or some other color?
Thanks!
I want to approach all of the GCRs to build some level of relations. Regarding NPO, we do have some mixed history with them. Therefore, I would want to make sure I am transparent with the government on ensuring this is something we want to pursue. If so, we will decide as a team how to approach it. A definite desire of mine is to build more formal relations with TNP, which we have worked on.Vienna wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 6:38 amWhat are your thoughts on strengthening formal relations with the NPO?
I'd like to think I am rather consistentLord Ravenclaw wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 4:42 pmReading your platform, I felt the need to go back and check a document that is nearly three years old. The similarities between then and now have made me smile a little.
Good luck, Jakker.
A cabinet with Asta, Raven, Sev, Diamete (from KRO), and Koth would be pretty badass if you ask me.Festavo wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 6:17 pmFair enough.Jakker wrote:Tue Mar 29, 2016 12:30 amThanks for the question, Fest. What what your ideal fantasy cabinet be? They can be anybody as long as they are or were a member of Osiris at some point.
I do appreciate that you're basically saying this won't happen, but as I've already ruled out voting for one candidate on this basis, to be fair I need to press a bit on this. You don't unequivocally say you would rule out nominating a Predator user for Vizier or, more likely given you have a Vizier already in mind, Scribe of War. Should I take that to mean you aren't likely to nominate a Predator user, but you aren't ruling it out?Jakker wrote:Wed Mar 30, 2016 4:50 am3. While people may try to make the Predator issue out to be something simple, it is actually quite complex. I mean that I do not believe that someone who used Predator should be shunned or disregarded for positions in the region. With that said, my Vizier in mind is not R/D affiliated and as I mentioned earlier, I do not plan on electing a Scribe of War who knows how to trigger necessarily. Therefore, I do not see that happening and due to thinking about FA and PR, it probably would not be best to do so.
I think it is not advantageous for us to completely rule out this possibility as a region because then the question becomes does this mean predator users will be shunned from those positions indefinitely? For how long? What about other positions? Are we shunning them from the region? In my opinion, this type of mindset can lead to a lot of potentially other dangerous practices.Cormac wrote:Wed Mar 30, 2016 7:45 amI do appreciate that you're basically saying this won't happen, but as I've already ruled out voting for one candidate on this basis, to be fair I need to press a bit on this.
