Treaty of the Ancient Gods Preamble
We, the twin Sinker regions of Balder and Osiris, hereinafter jointly referred to as "the signatories," in the interest of continued cooperation and lasting friendship, hereby enter into this treaty to ensure the secure and stable progress of our sovereign regions.
Article I: Mutual Recognition
(1) The signatories agree that the legitimate government of each signatory is the form of government to which the legitimate World Assembly Delegate of that signatory chooses to adhere.
(2) The signatories agree to recognize each other's legitimate governments and, to the extent practicable, to assist each other in securing and advancing the sovereignty of those governments over their respective regions.
Article II: Military Commitments
(1) The signatories will not engage in military hostilities against each other. Participation by the signatories on opposite sides of a military engagement that does not constitute an attack or support for an attack on either region will not be considered military hostilities against each other.
(2) At the request of a signatory and to the extent practicable, the other signatory will provide defensive military assistance against aggression by foreign forces and will provide military support during times of regional emergency or Delegate transition.
(3) At the request of a signatory and as consistent with the other signatory's laws, policies, and military availability, the other signatory will provide support for military operations beyond defense or support of the signatory region.
Article III: Intelligence Commitments
(1) The signatories will not engage in any form of espionage, infiltration, or subversion against each other, or participate in any such endeavors undertaken by third party regions or organizations.
(2) A signatory will provide information to the other signatory when such information is pertinent to the other signatory's security, unless the signatory in possession of such information reasonably believes that providing such information may violate applicable laws, or violate the terms of use or service established by NationStates or the signatory's forum host.
Article IV: Diplomatic Commitments
(1) The signatories will establish and maintain in-game embassies with each other.
(2) The signatories will maintain embassies on their off-site regional forums with each other.
(3) The signatories will endeavor to regularly cooperate in hosting, organizing, and participating in joint diplomatic and community events.
Article V: Procedures
(1) This treaty will take effect when it has been ratified according to the procedures for treaty ratification established by each signatory.
(2) Upon ratification, this treaty will supersede any prior treaty or agreement between the signatories, having the legal effect of automatically repealing any prior treaty or agreement.
(3) As soon as practicable following ratification, the signatories will cooperate to stage a joint community festival to celebrate the alliance continued by this treaty.
(4) Either signatory may withdraw from this alliance after repealing this treaty according to the procedures the signatory has established for treaty repeal, and after notifying the other signatory via its off-site regional forum that the alliance has been terminated.
