Osiran of the Week!

Post by Kyorgia »

Seems like I forgot last week, so sorry about that guys but this week we will have a new Osiran of the week! This week I have chosen Jakker to be the Osiran of the week! I know Jakker has been it once before not too long ago, but his work as keeper of the Deshret has made me think he deserves it again. If anyone has any interesting stories or words of praise this would be a great time to say them!

The first time I met Jakker was when I was 5 years old. He was attempting to pass himself off as his aunt in order to infiltrate the junior reader book club, and bring it down from the inside. He may have even gotten away with it too. He sure had moves, that Jakker kid. We would all look up to him, the slightly un-coordinated kid from the black aviary down the road from our scout's den.

In the end, it was proven to be a failed plan, as a group of snotty-nosed do gooders, with that teacher's pet, Thomas, ratted him out at the last second, as he was about to be voted, JRBC chairperson. A truly heartbreaking sight it was, watching the poor lad tear at his hair, barely holding back the tears, knowing that he had to look tough in front of his young and adoring friends.

Oh what a grand hiding we gave that Thomas brat that day, after school. In the end, we all ended up in the principal's office, getting a telling off like never before. The majority of us got warnings, but somehow Jakkers brother, Cormac, who was sick in bed that day, managed to get himself a one day suspension.

Cormac, for that matter, was an interesting person in himself. He was smart, charismatic, and most definitely one of the most popular kids around, for which he was admired by many, including myself, yet both envied, and disrespected by many also. That clash always made for interesting drama in our otherwise somewhat boring, monotonous lives. However, for all his many good sides, Cormac had one fatal flaw. Girls. There was this one in particular, called Violet, who's attention he would seek to gain in any way possible, often doing the most outrageous things to sway the heart of his dame. However, Jakker's ill fated brother received merely cold stares in return, coupled with much more heated suspensions from the principal, who seemed to hate him with a passion.

Later on, we lost sight of Jakker for some time. His name would appear here and there, but never any definite news. The first word of his successes on my graduation day, 13 years after me first meeting him. Our new Scout Den's Manager, Ivo told me that Jakker had spent some time raising young birds, hawks in particular, and later this year, would be moving back to that black aviary where he had lived, all those years ago, but on his own terms, as a big shot, with big experience and a large name. I couldn't help but feel a stab of pride for my childhood friend, having heard those words. Turns out Jakker's new job wasn't the only big reveal either, and that good old Cormac had finally found his wings too, or how else would have Ivo, who turned out to be his son, have been born?

Upon Jakker's return the old aviary began to flourish again, and even the grouchy old man who was in charge of the scout den, would visit it every once in a while, leaning on his old walking stick, which we would call his "Field Marshall's Baton" when we were young. Turns out birdkeeping wasn't the only thing my old friends had a talent for too. Some 10 years later, he had been hired on a big time contract to draw posters and make promo's for some big Egyptian Circus that was being formed in our ever growing town. At first, I believed it somewhat traitorous of him, considering the circus was run by one of the "do gooders" we once hated so much, but later on realized that not only was it time to put such things behind us, but also that this once snotty-nosed teachers pet, despite making attempts to revoke all my school awards, was actually, a really swell guy, and steady on his feet too, if the tact with which he handled the replacement of the old wall which separated the circus from the Scandinavian Theatre, is anything to go by.

Looking back on those years of my youth, I realise how boring I thought they had been, but how truly hectic they actually were. Many people ask me. Did I want to be Jakker? Do I still? And I answer them: "No one wants to be Jakker, as we are all in some way already him, we are all born with a small part of him inside us and it is that small part that motivates us, guides us and makes us feel as if we are, in truth, a small part of a larger whole" For thus, was the boy with the hawks.

PS: ILY Guys, take no offense pl0x, Kyo asked for story, I gave him one.
