Policy on Embassies and Consulates with the Osiris Fraternal Order
Establishment of In-Game Embassies
In-game embassies are granted first and foremost to allies. In-game embassies may also be granted to longtime friends and regions that align with the interests of Osiris. Osiris permits posting on our Regional Message Board by all residents of embassy regions, so it is necessary to limit the number of regions with which we have in-game embassies so we can better control access to our RMB.
Establishment of Forum Embassies
Diplomatic Applications
Any region that meets the following criteria may be eligible for establishment of an embassy on the Osiris Fraternal Order forum, entitling it to a subforum in our Non-Allied Embassies subforum:
1. The region has a population equal to or greater than 100 nations. Artificial enhancement of population through puppet flooding will not satisfy this criterion.
2. The region has an off-site forum and is willing to host an embassy subforum for the Osiris Fraternal Order on its off-site forum.
The above criteria will not be retroactively applied to embassies established prior to the date of this policy's publication or future revision, though any region that fails to meet criteria for maintenance of embassies (see below) will be subject to these criteria upon re-application for an embassy.
Maintenance of Forum Embassies
In order to maintain an embassy on the Osiris Fraternal Order forum, a region must meet the following criteria:
1. The region must maintain an embassy subforum for the Osiris Fraternal Order on its off-site forum.
2. The region must maintain a reasonably active community and government.
Should a region fail to meet these criteria, its representative(s) may re-apply for an embassy on the Osiris Fraternal Order forum provided it meets the criteria for establishment of embassies.
Establishment and Maintenance of Forum Consulates
Any region that does not meet the criteria for establishment of embassies may instead apply for a consulate, which will entitle it to a thread in our Consulates subforum. Any region that feels it may have trouble meeting criteria for maintenance of embassies or that would simply prefer to apply for a consulate may opt to instead apply for a consulate.
There will be no activity criteria for maintenance of a consulate.
Policy Exceptions
Allies will be exempt from criteria for establishment and maintenance of embassies and will be granted an embassy subforum in our Allied Embassies subforum upon application for an embassy. Allies may opt to instead apply for a consulate if desired.
The Osiris Fraternal Order reserves the right to decline an application for an embassy or consulate or to close an embassy or consulate for any reason, beyond the general criteria established above.
