Pharaoh Tim Stark's Hedjet and Atef Nominations

Post by Vaculatestar »

Do you think that having you as the head of our Foreign Affairs would actually harm the potential we have with rebuilding relationships with those that we burned relationships with during the war?

I do not believe so, no. Who is better positioned to make amends for the mistakes Osiris made during that time period than the person who was responsible for them? That, coupled with Tim's foreign affairs connections which will be invaluable, should make us a strong team and I have every confidence we'll be able to repair many damaged diplomatic relationships.

Besides, I will not be head of foreign affairs. The Pharaoh is head of foreign affairs. If confirmed, I will be his advisor and his assistant, and nothing more.

Ultimately, Tim is responsible for FA. The FA policies of Cormac's tenure as Pharaoh were largely due to him acting of his own accord without consultation. Treize and I called him on this during his term and when he finally listened, we began to get back on track. Despite his issues, he has my full trust.

There isn't any doubt about Cormac's ability or experience in this area. I've spoken to him about this nomination to see how he feels about it. I agree that he served more than admirably in the position under Severisen and the "concerns" that Councillors may have come from times after that.

I would be prepared to vote in favour of it. If we see a repeat of actions which make the concerns valid, then the Pharaoh has an option at hand to dismiss him, or we can recall him. Business will go on as normal, either way.

Beyond that I have no issues or comments about the other nominations.

I totally knew that!

I was just voicing my support for the candidates to boost their confidence. :)
