Syl for Pharaoh - Working for Osiris

Here's one question that I'm asking all of the candidates; how do you intend to deal with the relatively low amount of influence spread throughout the Atef?

Do you plan on making more appointments to the security council?

My plan is to address this by getting to know the relatively active players with high influence nations that are currently in our region, but are not part of the Atef. This will be done by gaining knowledge on the players behind those nations from well-versed members of the region, and to be fair to the player, by asking them questions about their activity, interest in regional security, willingness to join the WA, and so forth. Those that fit the criteria of an Atef Guardian will be appointed as I see fit.

I understand your concern about the Atef's relatively low influence amounts. That being said, any process I take isn't going to be rushed because the health of Osiris is key and who we place our security in the hands of is one of the most vital things in that regard.

Syl, again, you've got a strong campaign. Thank you for that.

I'd like to know who your leadership models are in NS and IRL. Thanks =)

I would like to apologise on behalf of Osiris, although I can't technically speak for the community anymore, I am an historical figure and that gives me a certain bit of leeway. The OFO was founded on principles that we would never have to see a member of our community be attacked for things within our domain that they cannot control. Unfortunately today that was proven to not always be the case. As you know such actions are not the backbone of this community, however it may like a regular drama-fest, we have traditionally kept it in NS political matters, and come together to support our own when RL troubles hit.

This event was the exception to the rule, however unwelcome and I apologise that you were on the receiving end of it. Good luck in the election.

Thank you, Raven...

As for your question, Sev; My NS leadership model would have to be Bob Moran. When I joined NS, he was the one who taught me a lot to start out with. His openness to new faces, his efficient yet friendly attitude, and his lack of ego even despite his meteoric rise is something I've tried to emulate in this game since I met him.

My IRL leadership model would have to be my 23-year-old best friend and his girlfriend/fiancee of 12 years. I've known them since they were both 16. They were both born a day apart in August of '89. They both were orphaned before legal age. Now, neither of them have afforded college, they live on food stamps despite Rob's attempts to start small businesses or strike money in other areas, and they can barely afford monthly internet. Sometimes they can't. Yet, every time I talk to him, he's emotionally stressed but talks about being a homeowner of a custom-built mansion in the future and treats everything with optimism. Every time I talk to his fiancee, she's ridiculously positive in her outlook of not just their situation, but the world. Any time their relationship status has been mentioned, they mention not simply getting a marriage license because they want to be able to afford a "real wedding" with all the bells and whistles. Through all of this, she had an extremely bad experience with a stalker and he had 3 near-death experiences ; Being struck by lightning (it jumped to him from other objects), a motorcycle accident, and a heart condition he didn't know he had that suddenly popped up at the worst time. These people have every reason to be cynics, to scream they hate the world, and to use me or others as a soundboard on how much everything sucks. In the 7 years I've known them, never once has this been the case. That amazes me to no end, and I'll be honest; When my life gets rough, I try to have the outlook on things that they do. They represent eternal optimism and endless love, in a world where we really need more of that.

I've learned more about the minds of men on the internet than I have in any book.
