King Damien I Abdicates

The Crown is brought from the Royal Vault to crown the new Monarch

In the early hours of yesterday evening, His Sovereign Majesty, King Damien the First, announced his abdication to the people of La France. This was followed by distraught and anxiety as news of the unexpected announcement spread throughout the Realm. There was heavy concern regarding the Abdication, specifically coming from HM Government. The Prime Minister was said to be 'displeased' at the Former King's decision, however, showed 'respect' to Damien's choice of action and his long loyalty to the Region .

BE IT ON THE BEHALF AND NAME OF HIS ROYAL AND IMPERIAL MAJESTY,

We, His Imperial and Royal Majesty King-Emperor Edward Damien George Andrew Alexander Fominov, first of his name, sovereign of La France, Emperor of the French Empire, Defender of the Faith and Grand Duke of Ile De France, do hereby announce and inform the peoples of La France and her glorious Empire that We, His Majesty the King, do hereby abdicate from the Holy Imperial Throne of La France. This decision comes with great sadness and regret however, after conflicts in the Imperial Structure, I have decided that it is time for me to leave. I will be officially removing all of my titles as my last royal decree. In my time as King, this region has seen four attempts at a coup d'etat against my authority and rule as Monarch of La France. Some were dealt with secretly whilst others were, unfortunately, seen by all and caused unrest. However, this is no good thing. Four attempts to claim a throne indicates my lack to lead the peoples of La France, which I am forever sorry for. Furthermore, this region has seen a great decline in activity and I am to blame as I set the standards for the people of La France. The final reason is due to conflicts that have arisen in the Imperial Structure and to public comments made against my rule. Due to these, I have lost the confidence of the people in me and I am therefore not suitable to lead the people. I wished and dreamt that when I stepped down as King I would do so leaving La France in a better state than I found it. However, I now realise that would never have happened. This region needs new direction that I am glad the Lord Protector will bring. I have total confidence and faith in my Lord Protector and know he will do great things.

Now to announce the next monarch of La France. Her Royal and Imperial Highness the Dauphin, Anna Amelia, will not be ascending to the throne as Queen of La France. Instead, the next Monarch of La France will continue my line and will be a direct descendant of my blood line; Her Royal and Imperial Highness, Princess Eleanor Fominov, Princess of France and Duchess of Versailles. I have full confidence in my daughter and now that she will do brilliantly in La France as as your new Queen, I know that she, with the help of our beloved and close advisor the Lord Protector, will revive La France to become the Gem of NationStates; it's rightful position.

I am deeply sorry that I am doing this, but with this signature, on this day of the lord, I do hereby abdicate from the throne of La France.

Within the statement, Damien says the motives for his abdication were his "apparent mismanagement" of the Region causing its decline as well as the various periods of insecurity; which caused various coup d'teat conspiracies against him. He also said there were several conflict between him and various members of both the community and of the Imperial Structure, in the past, commenting against his rule.

Before officially stepping down, Damien issued several last royal decrees in his abdication; revoking all his Royal Titles in La France as well as declaring his newly adopted daughter, Princess Eleanor, his successor and the Queen-Empress of the Region and all it territories. This was a surprise to certain members of the Regional Community as it was expected that Princess Anna Amelia would become Queen, as Dauphin of La France.

There is currently much ado within La France and HM Government hopes that the Region will be able to pull through it all, with the help of Queen and Region.

Cracks in the Government Empty Senat Chamber For the past several administrations, the Region has seen a growing amount of inactivity from not only the community, but from within the Government of La France. There has been a large decline in activity since the Bowes Administration, and despite current efforts by the Andrew Administration, the issue seems that it will take a long time to resolve. Time that the Region may not have.

The Current administration currently struggles to make ends meet, with projects going unfinished and inactive Ministers. During a press briefing of the Prime Minister of La France, Andrew Grey-Anumia, he accepted full responsibility for the inactivity of the Government and has said "that this is a Problem and a problem that previous administrations have seen." and that issue shall be faced "head-on; quickly and decisively "

The Prime Minister has proposed a bill to be considered ,after the conclusion of the Senat Elections and its official opening, which shall allow individuals to hold various government position at a time as well as the establishment of emergency protocols during a State of Emergency.
However, all is not lost, as Senat Elections begin a new. With the coming of various notable individuals from Nationstates UCR Regions, there have been a growth in legislative activity as well as an introduction to some of the most common political parties in UCR's such as Sinn Fein, and the Conservative and Labour Party

It is expected that an the Independent will gain the majority in this legislative session ,however, there are predicted various battles between different political parties, for control of the Senat

Rise in Forum Activity The Polls are open!


Despite Government inactivity, there has been an increasing amount of 'cease to exist' among nations of La France. This jolted the Government back into action as they discussed solutions to the regional issue. The Home Affairs Ministry launched a program as ordered by the Prime Minister which seems to prove efficient as there has been a rise in activity on both offsite-forum as well as in-game site.

Various new faces have been appearing for the past few weeks including the incumbent Queen and various other individuals. The new programme sets out to reach out to individual nations and invite them to actively participate in the community; on both in-game and on the off-site forum. At the same time, due to the circumstance of the region, the Lord Protector of La France, Cobi Beaufort, has increased spending on the recruitment programme; contacting hundreds of nations per day in various regions, to encourage the immigration to La France and help balance the Regions Populace.

Royal Wedding I can hear the Bell of Notre Dame, whos that ringing them? On the 17th of September, the Lord Protector of La France and Father of 4 wonderful children was joined with Prince Stefan F. A. Grey-Hesse in holy matrimony in the Triana Manor Wedding Chapel, inside the Lord Protector Residence.

Various notable individuals attended the Wedding, including Former King Damien and the Prime Minister as well as the prestigious Former Prime Minister William Bowes- Lyon.

The Wedding was presided over by the King ,due to the absence of the Archbishop of Notre Dame, with high hopes. The ceremony quickly concluded and the newly weds we escorted to to Strasbourg Palace in a golden coach for the State Celebratory Banquet. Behind closed doors, it was confirmed that different foreign dignitaries and representative gave the newly weds their blessings and presented them with various gifts on congratulations.
