ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PHARAOH Imperial Throne Room, Palace of the Pharaoh, Memphis 17th March 2014 The Ancient and Knowledgeable House of Ravenclaw, currently the Royal House of the Kingdom of Osiris would like to announce that the Nomarch, Joshua Ravenclaw has entered into a formal betrothal with Magister Xoriet of the East Pacific with the intent to formally marry within the Month of March.
As current Pharaoh of Osiris, this union will see a new member enter the Royal House and join Joshua Ravenclaw in ruling Osiris during this term. At this time, the Pharaoh has decided that Xoriet's title after marriage, will be "Her Imperial Majesty, Xoriet Ravenclaw, Queen of Osiris", for lack of a suitable title under the current theme. At this time, the title is subject to change.
The role of the Queen, as marital partner of the Pharaoh is a non-executive role devoted to the guidance of regional culture (it is my hope that any future marital partners of my successors, would also take a guiding hand and interest in our growing regional culture and identity in addition to any of their previous duties inside Osiris as a normal citizen. It is not my intention to prohibit what the spouse of a Pharaoh can do in Osiris only to ensure that whilst they are the spouse of the Pharaoh, they are still subject to normal procedures as mandated in the State Code of our region, including confirmation by the Deshret for any roles which require it.
Following a suggestion from the Lord of Giza, Venico Bright-Axe, ("Scourge of Defenders by Day, Master of All Things Amour by Night") and after an agreement with the Lord of Schroedenberg, Prussia Valkyrie, ("Representing the Honourable Magister Xoriet") it was decided that Lord Ravenclaw would need to pay the East Pacific a sum of goats equal to the population of the region, causing great hilarity to the Magister and utter shock to Lord Ravenclaw who asked if it were possible to use more conventional means for a betrothal agreement, Magister Xoriet gleefully informed him that those were the terms and that as "Goats are the currency of marriage" she was going to enjoy seeing what he came up with.
Following a mass purchase of some four thousand, five hundred goats from various farms across the Pacifics, they were delivered to the East Pacific and promptly chose AMOMs lawn to graze on, prompting the Emeritus Delegate to bring his shotgun to the party and demand that they "Get off my lawn!" before he "Blasts a new blowhole in you!" in typical AMOM style, the goats soon retreated and are currently masquerading as Magisters in the Magisterium Hall.
The High Priest Flemingovia, known for the teachings in his name has agreed to oversee the Marriage Ceremony in the Pharaoh's Hall in the Palace, before hosting a blessing at the Grand Temple of Flemingovia. In preparation for the events, security has been increased across the region with more Legionnaires being deployed to the various cities of Osiris in preparation for the influx of visitors and foreign dignitaries from across the world for the wedding.
Invitations will be sent out this coming week to dignitaries and allied regions with an expectation that they RSVP as soon as possible to the Ambassador from Osiris.
