Ides of March Event

Post by Altino »

"Hail!" Osiris' Pharaoh, Syberis, screamed, drunkenly swaying from his platform above the crowd. Below him, hordes of costumed party-goers threw their hands into the air and sloppily returned his greeting. The streets of Osiris were dripping with unfamiliar faces as it's citizens celebrated the passage of the Treaty of Anubis with their new friends in Europeia. One figure crept through the crowd unnoticed, dodging dancing legs and fists in the air, toward the platform where the Pharaoh stood. Europeia's President Malashaan pressed a few buttons on the table in front of him and suddenly the air was filled with music. The crowd, no longer able to contain itself, erupted in screams.

"Did you know he could DJ?"

"Dude, I literally just met him like yesterday, but this is amazing!"

Osiran sand Europeians danced and swayed together through the streets of Osiris and into the hills of Europeia as the party continued through both of their regions. Still, the figure followed behind the platform, silent and single minded. He had been hoping that the security guarding the President and Pharaoh would be light, but was surprised instead to find it nonexistant. He glanced behind him to see the bouncing head of one Europeian guard as he danced with a mixed crowd a not far from where the figure stood. Good, he thought, this should be quick. Cautiously, he climbed the steps onto the platform and stepped behind the DJ Booth, tapping Malashaan on the shoulder.

"Beware the Ides of March," he whispered, which Malashaan returned with a look of irritation.

"What?"

"Beware the Ides of March!"

Malashaan pushes the man back toward the steps, and Syberis turned, sensing a disruption, and attemped to guide the now hysterical man offstage. The man kicked at the arms that now tried to drag him away as security guards suddenly realized that they had jobs to do, knocking over microphones and cutting the music off. A horrible screech buzzed through the air and shocked the crowd below into silence.

"Beware! Beware! The Ides are coming, Beware!" the man continued, as he was drug out of sight.

The crowd watched him until he disappeared, then shifted their attention back to the platform, wher Syberis and Malashaan stood, dumbfounded. "Uh, sorry about that, folks..." Syberis began, then quickly pointed a finger at the Europeian President "Now back to partying!"

Malashaan kicked the music back on, and the crowd immediately returned to dancing, leaving the mysterious man and his warnings all but forgotten.

Hello! As part of our Anubis Festival, we will be celebrating the Ides of March together! Your job is to detail the story that the mystery man from above felt so compelled to warn us about. Similar to Julius Caesar's betrayal on the Ides of March, you will be tasked with explaining why and how you have stabbed whoever you choose to stab below.

Rules:
You get 11 stabs to stab people with. You must use ALL OF THEM.
This will be done in story format. (Doesn't have to be best seller stuff, but more than just "I stabbed Altino 11 times")
The timeline in your story must start on the 15th of March, but can extend into wherever you want.
Be creative!
In a spoiler or TL;DR at the bottom tally your stabs of people.
Post the story in this thread before the festival ends!
Only Stab people who are on the list of "stabbale" people. Just so we don't have you stabbing your irl neighbor or something and leave us unsure who you're even talking about.

NOTE: You do NOT have to chose only Stabbable people within your own region. The lists are just separated by region for convenience's sake.

We will have winners for this Ides in the following categories:
~ Best Story
~ Most Likely to Get Stabbed (most stabs by individual people)
~ Most Overall Stabs (most stabs total)
~ Worst Betrayal
~ Most Bulk Stabs (someone who is taking a large portion of people's stabs in bulk)
~ Stab Virgin (no stabs)

Ides of March Event

Post by Karnaka »

Suspicious actions from the representative of Altino had recently invited Karnaka’s ire, and the whispered warning had been sent abuzz through the region presented itself an interesting prospect. The Ides of March. The significance of the original warning played itself of little merit, they were a newfound recently reinstated region fresh from the uphauling and renaming from an old regime; no one had a knife ready for her gut.
Altino was another story.
The young and quickly growing nations chipper demeanor in private moments set Karnakas skin acrawl, rose her hackles and spoke of secret wishes that she refused to attest to. She didn’t trust her.
Leaning back in a middles chair Karnaka called in to her general in chief, voice chirping over “Howdy heydy how ya doin’? I need a favor if ya don’t mind? I think the whole ordeal earlier was of good merit for somethin’ to send to Altino.”
“Uh, earlier?”
“The whole ides of March thing? It just happened my man.”
“Wh- I don’t quite understand ma’am, you want to do what with Altino? We’re a little busy at the moment, we’re still getting everything new sorted out over here, what exactly is it you need?”
“I’m sending a message of sorts. Like, just a greeting nothing big, wanna make a message, say hello, all the good stuff, via a failed assassination attempt. You know the drill-“
“Excuse me??”
“Dude just chill don’t worry about it she’ll be fine, I need you to send someone over to greet her with a blade. I’d do it myself but that would severely link it back to us that we sent for it, send someone else and that’s plausible deniability babey.”
A bone deep sigh went over the line and she knew she had this one “Fine, fine, whatever, just Altino?”
“Don’t worry ‘bout it bardlebee, have I ever steered you wrong?”
“You just lead me to revolution my own country, what do you think? Listen I’m busy, is that all-“
“Oh! Rigel too! They’re close, and I haven’t heard from her in forever, send someone to Rigel too!” She hung up kicking feet and ignoring the shrill noise of her chief calling back, and the two calls afterwards. It wouldn’t do her any good to talk more he’d just try to convince her not to do this, and that’s lame. They’d get it. It was a shame Rigel cane as an afterthought, but she was decidedly important to the move.
Three days later a news letter was emailed to her ‘Altino Facing Political Attacks’ in the subject and a detailed account of the six stabs gifted to the power. A full week of espionage after that Karnaka found herself growing fidgety.
Was Rigel ignored?
Did there need to be a talk?
Did she need to send another agent?
We’re they discovered, did they’re spill the beans?
A ding resounded and she beamed. ‘Attack of Five Turned Turncoat After Assassination Attempt’. Interesting, not how she would have done it, certainly she’s wouldnt have sent five people, but it’s definitely a message. Well that’s done with.

Ides of March Event

Post by Altino »

I sit serenely on a perch high above the crowd. As I watch the quiet streets below, ALTRON swoops down and lands gently on my shoulder. I do not hear her approach, her design parallels the specialized feathers of silent flying owls, but I see her coming as sunshine glints off of her metal frame. She's heavy, and her claws are sharp, but for an unfeeling, metallic bird of prey, she's surprisingly aware of her potential to cause harm, and shifts her weight to be sure that she isn't hurting me when she lands. I give her a little pat, and together we return to surveying our city.

The Anubis Festival had begun only yesterday and some hysterical man had made an attempt to give warning of today's events. To his credit, he hadn't been hysterical until he made eye contact with me. I'd watched him very carefully make his way up to the platform where I and my father were sitting, tap the Europeian President on his shoulder, and whisper words in his ear that could've saved lives today. If only he'd been able to keep his cool and explain in clearer words what danger truly existed here, perhaps this could have been avoided. Instead, after realizing that he'd approached the President and not Syberis, he lifted his eyes to find the Pharaoh. He took a step toward Syberis, who was already walking in his direction, then accidentally collided with my stare. His eyes widened and I pursed my lips at him. "Beware the Ides of March!" he'd said, louder this time, then tried to turn and run away, but panicked as the Pharaoh and guards crowded around him. His screamed warnings continued until he disappeared from the crowd's sight, behind the platform where I was sitting. I jumped off the back of the platform to follow the guards as the dragged him away. "Halo!" I'd called, waving the guards back to their party as I approached. I'd enlisted his help because I'd trusted his loyalty. Clearly that had been misplaced.

"You don't have to do it, Alti. They know to expect something now, you could just prove me wrong, and no one would ever know. This could all go away."

"I would know." I inched closer to him. "You would know. I think we've just learned that you can't keep a secret."

I watched the realization that he had put himself in more danger than he'd calculated cross his face and grimaced. How much simpler things would be if people would just listen to me. It isn't as if I do these things because I enjoy them. "Wait, no. Wait. They told me that this would save her! Alt, no, I'm sorry! I thought this would fix things! They said-"

"They?" Halo paled again and I drew him into a hug for a second. "Sorry, Halo. Thanks for your help. You know how it goes, though. I can never do what feels good. I have to do what works." I smiled weakly at him, then stabbed him twice in the gut. Halo collapsed to the ground and sputtered while I walked away.
----------- I click my tongue, spooking ALTRON a little. Poor Halo. I didn't want things to end that way for him. He'd been a very good friend to me. Now I have this "they" that he'd spoken of to contend with. The list of people who knew what we had planned here was very small. Just myself, Halo, Rigel, and Cain. Who "they" could be was a heartbreaking list of people. There were few people in the world who I was closer to than these two people, but here they were, planning against me. I poke ALTRON and she looks to me for a command. "Ground Forever Rigel," I say, and she hefts herself from my shoulder and takes flight. I climb from my perch as well to meet Cain who waits for me at the bottom.

I'm glad that ALTRON will take care of Rigel. I don't think I could face them both. As I quietly descend, I watch Cain draw swirls in the ground with his foot, impatient to get movin again. I settle down on a low branch and watch him for a moment before carefully aiming a dagger at his downturned neck. My heart races and my resolve falters just as I send it flying toward him. The dagger misses its mark by inches and buries itself into his shoulder. He turns angrily to the source of his injury and when he sees me hiding in the leaves, points a finger at me. "NO!" he yells and begins trying to climb the tree to reach me. I scramble to a higher branch and throw two more daggers at him in a panic, one which lands in his side, and the other slicing through one of his legs. It doesn't matter, though, he loses his grip on the tree and plummets to the ground below us. I flinch as he lands and stare at him for... much longer than I should. I don't have the energy or desire to move anymore, and stay in an almost trance as I sit concealed in the tree for several minutes. Eventually, ALTRON lands on my shoulder once again. She's missing all of her sleek tailfeathers now, and when she lands, she digs her claws into my shoulder in an attempt to keep her balance.

"Rigel has been grounded," she purrs easily. I choke a little as I climb back down over Cain's body to our final target.
----------- By the time I reach Derps' backyard, I am enraged. This bot has cost me so much today over something so small. I run into her house with ALTRON flying swiftly behind me. Derps turns to me and grins mischievously. "Hi, Alti, I'm dad."

"ALTRON best bot!"I screech at her and jab my dagger into her thigh four quick times, and she immediately slumps over, spewing oil onto the ground. I turn to the pink bot behind me.

"ALTRON," I growl.
"BOW," she trumpets.
We run away.

tl;dr
Halo: 2
Rigel: 2
Cain: 3
Derps: 4
Bc Derps is not best bot ok.
