Osiris Elections: Elections for Chief Vizier and Chief Scribe nominations underway

Osirians in the nomination process
Palace of Scribes, Election Precint, Osiris Fraternal Order - The nomination stage of the Chief Vizier and Chief Scribe elections are underway in Osiris, after the recent state of emergency.

Nominations opened on September 19, 2016 and they shall close on September 26, 2016, after which voting will begin. For Chief Vizier, currently Vizier Adytus, incumbent Biyah and Deputy Scribe Transdavisia are candidates, whereas for Chief Scribe Viziers Gradea and Syberis are contenders to this position.

This is the third election for both Chief Vizier and Chief Scribe since Pharaoh Cormac took power back in April of this year. The election has taken place thanks to the recent state of emergency, in which all government positions were vacated, due to the law stating that such an event must occur.

Pharaoh Cormac is presiding over this election as an election manager of sorts. He takes care of the nominations and voting, in which all citizens can nominate and vote for anyone they wish, even for themselves, in this election.
Osiris-TGW row: Takeover of the Islamic Republics of Iran causes diplomatic strain

Osirian soldiers resisting takeover by the Wardens in Iran
Islamic Republics of Iran, Osirian Territory - After a Grey Wardens raid on the Osirian territory of the Islamic Republics of Iran, the Osiris Fraternal Order has decided to strain relations, along with imposing measures on being a member of The Grey Wardens.

In further response to this event, the Pharaoh established a state of emergency that lasted from September 12, 2016 to September 19, 2016. However, the government stayed nearly intact despite being disbanded, with the re-appointment of the members as the interim government. It can be said that the most notable action undertaken during this state of emergency really just was the restrictions and actions related to the Grey Wardens.

Figures such as Tim Stark (former Priest and High Constable of TGW), Derpsy and Amerion were all banned after their status as Grey Wardens was considered, and their convictions of sedition, citizenship fraud, conspiracy to commit citizenship fraud and/or disorderly conduct against Osiris were handed down by the Pharaoh, Cormac. RiderSyl and Rom were stripped of their citizenship, but, because of their inactivity, no further measures were taken.

Examples on the restrictions and actions taken by the government, primarily by the Pharaoh, are:
  • All TGW members are banned from seeking citizenship or joining the military
  • Current Osirian citizens must end their membership in the group, or they'll risk losing citizenship
  • All military members must not participate in operations involving the Wardens
  • All diplomats from Osiris to TGW are recalled, the TGW consulate in Osiris is closed, and the Osirian embassy in TGW is considered defunct
  • All future attempts by the Wardens or regions that hold it's official outposts (they are not consulates or embassies, more information here: http://s15.zetaboards.com/NS_Grey_Warde ... 8445130/1/) to establish diplomatic relations are banned
  • Getting the Islamic Republics of Iran back to Osirian control will be a top priority for the military

Osiris Elections: Elections concluded, Adytus and Gradea victorious

One of the winners is the new Chief Scribe Gradea. This is totally a photo of him on the Council of Scribes, celebrating his victory
Palace of Scribes, Election Precint, Osiris Fraternal Order - The people have voted, and they chose their candidates to lead Osiris.

The elections for both Chief Vizier and Chief Scribe have concluded.

The victor of the Chief Vizier side of these elections is the new Chief Vizier Adytus, elected with a margin of 9 (or 64%) of the vote, against 5 (or 36%) against, with no abstentions or votes to re-open nominations. Coincidentally, the winner of the Chief Scribe vote, Gradea, had the same winning margin.

Adytus ran on a campaign involving a foreign policy against Osirian enemies, and he would consider signing the Sovereignty Accords, a three-way treaty between The Pacific, The West Pacific, and Balder, of which Osiris is an ally, a community affairs policy involving the gameside area of Osiris, in order to recruit new members to the military, the forums (in which they will be guided), and the World Assembly, and, finally, a military policy involving to recruit as much as possible. Meanwhile, Gradea promised that Osirians could expect "experience, dedication and loyalty" from him in his tenure.

We at The Nile objectively congratulate both candidates on their success. May they lead in a most efficient manner.
Sandy Wolf Fest '16: Osirians and Wolves celebrate festival commemorating the Treaty of Lycopolis

Wolves were a rare sight in Osiris
Osiris Fraternal Order and Lone Wolves United - Osiris and LWU have jointly held a festival to celebrate their recent treaty, the Treaty of Lycopolis, signed on late July. The treaty encourages mutual security, stability, prosperity, and collaboration between the two signatories.

The festival involved a regional spam points competition, in which Osiris resulted victorious, a wolf avatar contest, in which Cain from LWU won, a karaoke in the LWU Discord, and a Q&A with Il-Khan Green (or Elysium Station II) and our pharaoh, Cormac. General spam was held in the Osirian forum, whereas general chatting, the Q&A and the karaoke were hosted by LWU on their Discord channel.

The festival officially lasted from September 23th to September 25th, as it was a weekend festival. Despite this, there were posts in Osiris section of the festival dating back to September 26th, suggesting the festival forum was archived a day late of the official end date.
