The Ruins of Vargin

Rumour has reached the taverns of Thebes that a recent sand storm has revealed the location of the storied ruins of Vargin, home to one of the ancient civilisations of Osiris in the deserts to the north of the capital. Hasan Ja-le, a grizzled adventurer, quickly set to gathering a band to be able to venture out to explore, and loot, it before others could get to it.

Affiliation: Vagrant adventurer loyal to no one.
Occupation: Adventurer. Mercenary.
Physical Details: Around 6ft tall. Face unknown as never seen without mask. Not visibly muscular. Instead appearance of being tightly coiled and athletic.
Weapons: Khopesh (a curved sickle-like sword). A number of short, shard like daggers. Re-curve Turkish cavalry bow and steel tipped arrows.
Apparel: (see picture) Light fitting dark clothes for ease of movement and for ventilation in the desert. A grey mask with yellow eyes.
Items: Medicine and herbs for healing.
Personality: A reclusive and introverted man. He is short tempered but knows his stuff and is clearly experienced. A man for whom actions mean more than words. You win his respect and you win his loyalty.
Skills: An excellent navigator and sense of direction. Survivalist. Able to read the ancient languages. Skilled with his swords and sneaking.
History: Little is known by anyone about Hasan's background. A man only known to keep to the task at hand, he has not been known to ever speak about his past and has disappeared for long periods of time with no idea where he has been. It is believed he has served as a mercenary leader in notable battles in the past but nothing is known for certain. His presence commands the respect of those around him, partly out of fear. No one has ever laid their eyes on his real face.
