Use a real forum. Hosting is cheap and I've offered it more than once. :/

Though its good to have hope, keep in mind that is a possibility this doesn't last long. Independent hosting should wait, as Cormac said, until the OFO lasts for at least a month IMO.

I already intend to get hosting for other things, so yeah, wouldn't be a big deal either way.
Conversions are easier when you have less posts and accounts (less people having to reset their passwords, mostly) so it's best to get it done early, IMHO.

It'd be a free forum suite, most likely SMF or MyBB. Still a large improvement over ZB.

Being able to actually expand the board -- and having database access are huge boons. If I want an arcade, I can setup an arcade. Blogs? Can do that. A portal system that'll display the news all newslike? Doable -- all easily and more consistently than on Zetaboards.
Essentially, with a proper forum suite, you can do everything you can on Zetaboards, but better, due to increased access and not having to edit each skin individually.
Plus, it's easier to convert from SMF to a paid suite, like IPB, further down the line than it is to convert from say.. ZB, to IPB, when you have five gajillion more posts and usergroups, simply because crawlers can't set groups properly. That's why I want us on a proper forum before this board gets too huge.
