Howdy Folks,

We have something urgent to address today unfortunately.

Our friend Mike, longtime Guardian, Moderator, former Foreign Affairs Vizier, and community member is stepping away from NationStates after his nation CTE'd last night due to a technical error in the update. Mike has been a friend to me for a long time, and has been a well known face of Osiris since before I joined. I’ll be sure to keep #the_sandbox open for any military history rants he has waiting for us. I’m sure he will continue to be a part of our larger community when he is active, but I have no expectations that he will return to NationStates governance.

All the other guardians remain active, so as Mike’s replacement I will be appointing Saharan Sappho, better known to the community as Sparkles, to Guardianship. Sparkles is a close friend of mine and a loyal ally of Osiris during her time as the High Queen of Sparkalia. I have total faith in her abilities to keep Osiris secure.

I wish Mike a peaceful retirement. He has given far more to this region than almost any other Osiran I can name. A more loyal and self-sacrificing man is hard to come by these days.

Mike deserves a nice break. All my love, bud. ♡ Terrorize them more than ever.

I'll miss the occasional discussion with Mike of naval history and pre-WWI era small arms, but in his duties to Osiris, yes, a rest is well-deserved after so long a service.
