To celebrate Star Wars Day, for the rest of this month, we will be hosting a Design a Lightsaber contest. The rules are simple - have your lightsaber design submitted as an image here on or before the 31st of May. They may be drawn, digitally designed, or created in an online program, including video games (thanks to Draco for finding
this). Colour, lore and labels are optional. Once the submission window has ended, it will go to a community vote. 50 points are earned upon submitting an entry, and 100 for winning the vote.
May the force be with you.

Draco has designed a Dueling Lightsaber with Dual-Phase functionality. It has a curved hilt designed to maximize the potential of a one-handed, finesse-based fighting style. The crystal is a Hurrikaine variant of violet color that creates a blade known for easily penetrating defenses. The blade is typically 1.3 meters in length but can extend to 3 meters with a press of the primary button. The saber itself can only be activated by force sensitive individuals or those who can find the hidden switch somewhere on the hilt. The intricate electronics are of course water proofed to prevent any shortages.

The goal is to keep the ludicrously-dangerous-cut-through-anything blades as far away from the user as possible (both their own and their opponents'). Since strength is not generally required, thrusts with a spear would be very effective, and the three blades make both blocking it and attacking the wielder trickier. Their angle makes them far less stupid than a cruciform design as well. Also, the reduced strength requirement also reduces the stress on the weapon, thus making a modular system viable - in this case, the spear haft is detachable, if put in circumstances where it would not be viable.

Designed to look like the Zweihanders of Old. The Amber Blade is formed of a Compressed Etaan Crystal and features a Tri blade emitter that is excellent for blocking and parrying blows.
The Blade and The Weilder are known for their ferocity. And those who have seen The Blade in action understand why. Devastating in its power, the wielder of The Amber Blade has sworn only to use it in times of true need, and never against the undeserving.

This is quite possibly the most unwieldy thing I could have created...... and yet I think I won.
