A Statement of Purpose

I am a builder. I've tried very hard to write a speech here worth reading and have come at it now from several different angles, each of which I ultimately frowned at and scrapped. None of them said what I really want to say here, which is just that I am a builder and what I intend to do with my time as your Pharaoh is build you up.
I have done a great many things on NationStates and learned from a shockingly wide array of teachers, but it's been evident since the beginning of my career that what I was best at and enjoyed most was building things. I'm not an expert in all things, but I don't feel like I have to be to see jobs done. I just need a good team to work with me. It hasn't been easy to put together, but I think what we now have on our hands in Osiris is a very good team - it's a team that genuinely cares, and that's all I'm really asking. I've spoken with them all, and they share an excitement to turn over a new leaf and "really get things started." I have always believed in Osiris to be spectacular, but I have more faith in the future that we're setting up for ourselves now than I ever have before. Through Cormac's reign as Pharaoh, we created a new identity for ourselves. Through Neo Kervoskia's, we learned to practice stability. Through Syberis', we discovered what we stood for. In mine, hopefully, we will learn to be people of action.
To My Government: I hope that you are prepared to be involved. When Syb appointed his Cabinet, he said that these positions were meritocratic and would only go to those who deserved them. I'm telling you now that these positions are meritocratic and will not remain in the hands of those who will not work for them. I don't ever want to hear from any of you that you won't do something to help a fellow Vizier or Osiran committee because it "isn't your job." It's all your job now. This is going to be the most intertwined Cabinet that you've ever been in, we're going to meet regularly for planning and reporting, and we're going to get some stuff done. I refuse to work with a dud government. If you aren't able to keep up with the demand or don't want to do the work, we will simply replace you, no hard feelings. Otherwise, you will have a team that's well supported by myself, the Guardians, each Vizier, and every weapon that we have at our collective disposal to help you succeed. Our plans won't always work out, and that's okay, but it certainly won't be for lack of trying. We are going to try very, very hard.
To My Committees: That's Foreign Affairs, Gameside Affairs, Community Affairs, Military, etc. Thank you for the work that you've all done during this last term. We're going to take some time for re-organization and planning, so please bear with us as we get new Viziers in place and working again. The way that you currently know your job to exist may change soon, but know that your Viziers and myself have an open door to discuss ideas, concerns, or what you had for lunch yesterday at any time to help keep things running smoothly. We're going to have a good time and I think that working as an involved and active team is going to be good for everyone and will cut down on the times where we sit around wondering what we're supposed to be doing. We'll have fun!
To My Citizens: Please hold us accountable. If you choose to do nothing else in Osiris, hold your government and your Pharaoh to their word. If we say that we're going to do something and we let it slide, say something. If we seem to have given up on getting anything done, speak up. If you feel like we're handling things the wrong way or putting Osiris in situations that she ought not be put in, tell us about it. At the end of the day, all we need to be doing is the best thing for Osiris, and if that's not what you feel we're offering, then we need to be able to talk about that. Maybe you just misunderstood things and we can soothe your mind with a simple explanation; maybe we have legitimately just not been doing a good job and we need to either straighten up or re-evaluate who we're letting lead us. Either way, these things have to be in the open air. I will not be a Pharaoh that's distant or uncomfortable to approach. I will be here, be active, and will keep thick skin. We are a respectful and tight-knit community, and the way that we'll stay that way is honesty and teamwork. All citizens of Osiris are part of the team. Remember, the things that the government are doing are for your benefit, not our own. When we put something together, participate in it, then tell us what you thought. We cannot grow if you don't tell us what you want. So tell us what you want.
I love this region - I believe in it - and I'm so excited to serve you now. I hope that together we can build something that will silence whatever ghosts still linger in our past, and instead put the lessons that we learned there as investments into our future. We are smart, we are talented, we are mindlessly sarcastic, we are hilarious, we are very cool. We will build something to admire.
