The Sekhmet Legion Act now at vote. Voting will conclude at 1.00 p.m. EST on Friday, 18th May
This is an amendment to the Scroll of Horus and as such it will require a two-thirds vote to pass the Council of Scribes.
Citizens may vote Aye Nay or Abstain
A reminder that Guardians are not eligible to vote in the Council of Scribes on constitutional amendments, as Guardians vote on such amendments separately in the Council of Guardians.

Act Text wrote:The Sekhmet Legion Amendment Act
I. Amendments to the Scroll of Horus.
(1)The following text will be amended into the Scroll of Horus as Article VIII: The Sekhmet Legion.Amendment text wrote: (1)The Sekhmet Legion is the military force of Osiris and has the Pharaoh as its official Commander in Chief and operates under the direct oversight of the Pharaoh. The missions the legion takes and the nature of those missions may be decided by the Pharaoh and the Pharaoh alone.
(2)The Sekhmet Legion may create its own requirements for joining and although these are not regulated by or legislated on by the Council of Scribes such requirements are still legally enforceable and any attempt to provide misleading information in one's application will be treated as citizenship fraud as described by Article II Section 5.
(3)The Sekhmet Legion’s day to day operations are run by the Marshal general who is appointed by the Pharaoh and reports directly to the Pharaoh.
(4)Although the Marshal general does not sit on the Council of Viziers they must be informed by the council of any sensitive information they possess or any discussions they have had which could impact the legion in any way, shape or form.
(5)The Legion may create its own disciplinary rules and policies as long as such policies and rules do not contradict this constitution or any other laws that are in force. Particularly the Charter of Rights act.
(6)Breaches of such policies by individuals lower than the lowest officer rank are to be handled by a panel consisting of the Pharaoh, Marshal General and the 3rd highest ranking officer.
(7)Breaches of such policies by individuals above the lowest officer rank are to be handled by the Council of Priests with the Pharaoh and the Marshal General also sitting with the Priests for the duration of the trial. If the Marshal General them self is on trial then the 2nd highest ranking officer shall sit instead of the Marshal General.
