New Constitution, New Houses

The Council of Nobles and Nobility together inspecting the final draft of the Compacts
Kantrias has always striven to walk the line between a region that functions out of character - like most Gameplay regions these days - and one that establishes a unique cultural identity and lore, as if Kantrias were a real Kingdom in a real world. Kingdoms and Dynasties do not spring out of nowhere. Since the reestablishment of the realm in late January of this year, much has been done to craft our society of nobility, coming to the capital to help the Queen govern the realm, with the Queen as first among equals.

And so, we have passed the Compacts, structuring the balance of power between Crown and Nobility by creating Four Cadet Peer Houses, all descended from cousins or illegitimate children of the Quilor Dynasty, which has ruled Kantrias for many a century. The skilled commanders of House Ravenscar, the charming and conniving diplomats of House Synair, the cultured patrons of the arts of House Kessinhall and the wise and welcoming educators of House Thelvar. The Compacts, contracts between the Crown, the Houses and the Nobles, divide the authority of the Crown amongst the Houses under the direction of the Queen - ultimate sovereign and first among equals.

Already, now that the Compacts have been passed, the Nobles of the Realm have begun to affiliate themselves with each house, hard at work crafting internal charters and soon they shall be selecting Ministers who will serve on the Council of State - the Executive of the region, and representatives to the Consistory - the new Legislature, representing the Houses and their interests.

The Compacts, of Houses, Rights and the Crown, establish a system of mutually checked obligations and powers, ensuring that while all govern for the best interests of the Realm and its Nobility, every noble has hungry peers eying their positions, creating incentives for success and achievement that will propel Kantrias into new heights. Under the leadership of the Crown and the Council of State, Kantrias is poised to build even more on the growth that has brought it this far, as ambition both checks and feeds on ambition. The desire for recognition, for honors, for power, will ensure that more people give their all to the success of the region, opening the halls of power to all who have the skill and drive to excel.

And each House comes with lore, crafted to grow and develop with the unique identity and symbolism of Kantrias.

RKA Charges Back into Action

The RKA armed with newly issued muskets
Quiet no longer, the Royal Kantrian Army is once more extending its reach across the land. Fitted with the latest in musket technology and mounted upon quick steeds, its soldiers are capable and ready to make their mark.

Over the past month, we have engaged in several training runs, and have assisted in an occupation. With new officers being trained to lead missions, activity is only expected to increase over the next months. So, when you see a flash of purple and gleaming bayonets, know the RKA is here and get out of their way.

A Duel of Honour

Two nobles facing off with rapiers
The Kantrian Dueling Society roars to life! Embraced by nobles from all corners of Kantrias, including the Queen herself, it has offered a chance from those of high and low station to earn honor and to show their skill. 8 duelists have made their mark on the Society so far.

Her Majesty has been willing to grace the dueling ring with her presence most honorably twice but without much by way of success yet and holds the 6th place position.

The Leckson family have taken quite well to the ring. In 5th place is Samuel Jackson III, who has fought two duels to completion but has yet to find a victory while dueling with skill and flash.

In 4th place is Silas, head of the Leckson family. Two duels in the ring have brought him mixed results with victory and defeat earned in equal measure. He brings the traditions of his people into the ring with each bout.

Infamous, in deed and name, is the 3rd ranked duelist of the society. After two matches he has a record of one defeat and one victory. He is a capable duelist and honorable combatant in many forms.

None other than the Prince of Whitecliff himself is the 2nd ranked duelist of the society. The only undefeated duelist, with two victories and no losses, he epitomizes the martial spirit of Kantrias.

The First Blade of the Dueling society is Dymosthene Agresti. The noble, a relatively new addition to Kantrias, has distinguished himself in the dueling circle with 4 duels, including 3 victories and 1 defeat. The Viscount of Kolkys brings a wild fighting style that has served him well.
