Kowassati’s Chief Vizier Campaign
[justify]Welcome to my Chief Vizier campaign thread – where you are free to ask questions and chat with me about regional policy, the future of Osiris, and anything else that crosses your mind. I have had my eye on this job for awhile and not just because I enjoy being ambitious on this game, but I feel I could make a real impact on the community, a real drive for good that will help not just the old folks out but also the newer members of the community and the game. I have been in Osiris for a while now and compared to my last region, Lazarus, Osiris is the bomb. We have a stable and prosperous community, something I honestly did not expect on this game coming out of the chaos of Lazarus that lead up to Funkadelia’s actions. Here in Osiris, it is somewhat of a brother/sister hood. Whether you are talking about Johnny Cash, walruses, anything out of Oph’s mouth, my feet, whatever, this region has a vibe that makes it your home, makes you want to be apart of it, and I want to build upon that. I want to make the bonds that make this region so great even greater because here in Osiris we are an incredibility dorky family. In case any of you do not know me, or my background, I was in Lazarus for a long time doing little administration jobs. I became the delegate there in the juggling circus show that was the Lazarene administration before King Funkadelia decided to put a stop to it and the nasty behavior that was so natural for the place. Unfortunately, given school and the somewhat insane expectations of being delegate there at the time, I resigned for a friendlier place, someplace I could continue to play the game in a chill environment. I am glad I found Osiris. It was like pulling a ball and chain off my leg when I came here and got to see what Adytus bragged about so often. Since coming here, I was lucky enough to help the region’s foreign affairs under Altino, someone I greatly respect for her friendly attitude and encouragement. I have been following Osiris’ foreign affairs since Adytus asked me to reopen relations with Osiris when I was delegate of Lazarus – a decision I am glad I made. As Vizier of Foreign Affairs in Osiris, I created a discord server that has worked out well for coordination between our own ambassadors to regions and ambassadors they send to us. Furthermore, I helped create a treaty between the North Pacific and Osiris and will be looking forward to creating more in the future. Foreign affairs and the office of Chief Vizier seem to be just my niche; I enjoy talking to people and being helpful. So without further ado, here are some of the ideas I would like to continue and conduct if I am elected Chief Vizier. [/justify]
- Like what was discussed in the Vizier chat, I think it would be a great idea to remove the job sign up from the citizenship applications and have the department heads continue to create their own sign-up threads for their projects in a collective forum. There should be one place that anyone, whether they just became a citizen or not, can sign up for work. It does not even have to be the typical departments, but citizens, if they need help or are looking for people interested in working on things like a newspaper, a role-playing thread, etc. can sign up for work. It should be a perfect way to direct people in the right direction and turn their interest into something productive for Osiris.
- Foreign affairs are extremely important and I would like to continue to maintain our current, important relationships such as the West Pacific, the East Pacific, Balder, etc. and improve them where we can. I would also like to take a stronger stance in regards to Lazarus. We should fully recognize, and deploy the Legion to help the Undead Kingdom of Lazarus. I understand that there are a couple of members of our community that will not forgive Funkadelia, or Lamb, for what they have done in the past. However, in the greater picture, Lazarus now shares a lot of our values and interests, including raiding, and constitutional monarchy. With Osiris being a leading example of a working constitutional monarchy in the Sinkers, I believe it is important to take a lead on an issue like this. Balder has already developed their army to help the new administration in Lazarus, and we should help our fellow Sinker establish their own stability and find their own peace. It will continue to be a difficult fight for the new government and be making it easier for a new, and young monarchy, to establish itself as legitimate, in my view, is extremely important to our regional interests. As for building brand new relationships with other regions, game created regions are more important to me. I would like to continue our work with the North Pacific and improve what we can there. In addition, with Queen Yuno being elected delegate in the East Pacific, it would be ideal to revamp our ties with them. We currently have a treaty, but perhaps a joint-community movie night, or something like that, could help us both. I would like to think a little outside the box of traditional festivals, although I am open to them.
- With a new change in recruitment policy, the North Pacific government now allows Sinkers to recruit from their region. I would like to take advantage of this and perhaps donate some of my own money to the cause. All are welcome to contribute, but I would never demand people to do so. That would be unethical. But the legion, our World Assembly numbers, and forum could benefit from the influx of new members from a Feeder instead of re-founded nations from Sinkers. Furthermore, I would like to press the issue with other Feeders, such as the East Pacific, to open up their region to the same recruitment policy for Sinkers. If this recruitment drive is continuous and an excellent recruitment telegram was written up, we could seriously benefit from this, and perhaps surpass any other Sinkers that are doing better than us in terms of numbers and activity.
- Of course, a strong Legion is a good Legion. All our Chief Viziers have wanted to increase the size and strength of the Legion but in my opinion; those goals always take a back seat to larger community efforts. Therefore, I am going to appoint someone that will not focus their efforts on other raider organizations or regions, someone that will take the time to make the Legion their personal project, and actually make a change as Marshal. If this sounds like you, please, let me know ASAP and we can use your ambitions and goals for a powerful army of Osiris. I understand that the military may be passing into the Pharaoh’s authority and I do support this idea, but until then, my promise stands. I know we can always be doing better than what the current state is. We just have to push hard, work hard, and play hard. Cooperation and communication with other regions is a pillar of the Legion. Drawing in duel members with experience should be a top priority, and could seriously make an impact for newer members that may not know as much about raiding.
- I want to think outside the box in terms of what we as a community can do together for fun. I know movie nights, gaming communities, and other ideas have been floating around – and they are all really great ideas. I would like to move on these, as well as think about other things that interest everyone. Voice chats, card games, D&D, chess, games in general, avatar theme weeks, funny role-play, etc. are some of those things, but I want to hear from as many community members as I can about their interests so we can come to some kind of consensus about what we as a community would like to do together. So let me know on the campaign thread if you want, or on discord, or whatever you want. I am an easy guy to get along with.
- A bigger presence on the Gameplay forum through a newspaper is something I would like to get going. I understand that Dali has been working on putting a newspaper together, but life has kind of bit him in the ass, which is something I can totally relate to. Ideally, someone that has an interest and a passion for writing would be great as well. In my free time, I will also contribute to the newspaper with whatever would be great. It does not have to be just about “gameplay” but anything we think is interesting as a community. It is a great way to advertise how great Osiris is to people that may share our interests and want to contribute to building something excellent.
- Standards are really important to me when it comes to members of my administration. I am super chill, but at the same time I want a team of people that will and want to work. We have an opportunity here that is too good to waste and I do not want to be the Chief Vizier that stands by and lets this pass right by. Therefore, I will type up a bullet list of what I expect each Vizier to be doing after I appointment them, and attempt to appoint people that will adhere to this list the best they can. Real life is always first though, and if someone is having a problem, I totally understand. I too have demands in my life that sometimes eat into my free time and time I spend on the game.
