Treaty of Aaru
WHEREAS The Kingdom of Great Britain ("KoGB") and Osiris Fraternal Order ("Osiris") have engaged in discussions about the status of relations between the two regions;
WHEREAS Osiris and KoGB wish to create friendship between one another through continued discussions, as well as the undertakings set forth herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, Osiris and KoGB agree to the following:
1. Sovereignty
(a) Osiris shall recognize only the legitimate government of KoGB, as determined by KoGB's law, as representative of the Region and People of KoGB.
(b) KoGB shall recognize only the legitimate government of Osiris, as determined by Osiris’ law, as representative of the Region and People of Osiris.
(c) Neither region shall pass or otherwise create a law which cedes sovereign control of its government to a third party.
2. Friendship
(a) Osiris and KoGB shall establish and maintain in-game embassies on the NationStates site with one another.
(b) Osiris and KoGB shall maintain off-site embassies on their regional forums, consistent with facilities provided to other allies.
(c) There shall be a firm and inviolable peace and sincere friendship between Osiris and KoGB.
3. Military Cooperation
(a) Neither Osiris nor KoGB shall engage in military hostilities against the other. Participation by Osiris and KoGB on opposite sides of a military engagement that does not constitute an attack on either signatory shall not be considered "military hostilities against the other" for this purpose.
(b) Should the direct security of the region of Osiris or her colonies be threatened, KoGB will endeavour to provide military aid at the request of the government of Osiris.
(c) Should the direct security of the region of The Kingdom of Great Britain or her colonies be threatened, Osiris will endeavor to provide military aid at the request of the government of KoGB.
(d) Osiris and KoGB shall aid each other in Delegacy transferrals when requested.
(e) Osiris and KoGB will collaborate militarily for the combined benefit of both regions when practical.
4. Intelligence Undertakings
(a) Neither Osiris nor KoGB will set spies on the other. For this purpose, a “spy” is a person acting under false pretenses in one region, without that region's knowledge, and at the direction of the other region's legitimate government.
(b) Osiris and KoGB each shall provide information to the other if such information is pertinent to the other region's security or well-being, or otherwise upon the other's reasonable request, unless the party in possession of such information reasonably believes that providing that information might violate applicable real-life laws or contravene the terms of service for NationStates or the region’s forum provider.
(c) Osiris and KoGB will each make it a violation of their internal laws to spy on the other, if a similar or related law to the same effect does not already exist. To the extent permitted by each region's laws, this Section 4(c) shall be deemed self-executing.
5. Articles of Implementation
(a) This treaty shall take effect when it has been ratified by the duly authorized individuals or bodies of both Osiris and KoGB.
(b) If a signatory region wishes to terminate this treaty, they must give the other a public notice.
(c) Termination of this treaty shall not be seen as an act of war or hostility.
