WREKTOPIA'S CHIEF VIZIER CAMPAIGN THREAD
Firstly I would like to thank the great Doctor, Lex, Ady, Mg, and Jur for nominating me and I'm humbled by all of your faith in my ability. If I win this election I hope to reward everyone's faith with a wildly successful term as Chief Vizier, full of foreign affairs outreach and new cross-regional connections, more new cultural and gameside entertainment material, and a prolific and innovative media department. I think I've lined up an amazing cabinet, which I plan to appoint and expand following the election if I win it. Secondly I would like to congratulate Adytus on becoming Chief Scribe. He is one of the hardest working and most capable members of this region's government and I know he will do a fantastic job in the position and I want to further congratulate him on serving two consecutive and impressive terms as Chief Vizier. I have some big shoes to fill.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank Griffin, Syberis, Adytus, Dr_PelIcaN, Mghnb, LexerMercs, Sygian, Imki, Matt C, and everyone else around who I've interacted with, who I've learned from, and who has made an example of their contributions to the region and the community here. I wouldn't be capable of running for this position, let alone even being here to contribute, without the presence of my peers and without learning by example from everyone around me. I appreciate everything that everyone has put forth. Thank you.
Regarding foreign affairs, I'll echo what I've said to Matt C and written in the FA dispatch as Vizier of Foreign Affairs: I plan to oversee a grand expansion of our treaty network and work on military nonaggression pacts with any foreign entity that is receptive to the idea. I will charge my prospective Vizier of Foreign Affairs with this goal and stand by him every step of the way. If I need to involve myself in drafting and discussions with foreign powers and help expedite the process I will not hesitate to do so. I would also like to build a network of ambassadors to represent Osiris abroad and will comb the region for good candidates. On proscribed regions: I intend to review the proscribed regions list with the Pharaoh, Heir Apparent, and the rest of the Council of Guardians, and get a good feel for which regions on it may no longer be threatening to us and may be receptive to restoring relations with our region. If possible, I want to pare this list down and expand our FA horizons.
I also hope to help host the Sovereign Accords festival right after being elected. Adytus and I (and Pelican) had great success with Osiris's regional booth during the World Fair, and while I don't plan to go about working on the Sovereign Accords festival with quite the same comic, aberrant attitude, I think I've learned from the experience and know how to help make an interregional event like this fun and engaging for everyone involved. I want to make this festival an event that everyone will remember for years to come. Upcoming is also the Pharaoh's Day! That, and a number of other holidays, thanks to the new legislation that was passed. Regarding this I'll quote myself from Matt C's recent news article: "For the Pharaoh's day and many of the holidays I think we can encourage people to get together on Discord and in-game on the RMB to discuss and celebrate. For the Pharaoh's day specifically we can write up a brief summary of the Pharaoh's term and accomplishments and hopefully allow for an open dialogue between the Pharaoh and the citizens, unless he's prefer to take his own day off which would also be entirely appropriate if not even more so."
More on appointments: I plan to build a fairly large cabinet: probably larger than any we've seen in recent months. So far I have at least 11 prospective appointments and I hope to accrue even more after being elected, especially within my media and foreign affairs teams. I will bring jobs to Osiris: so many jobs, your heads will spin. Jobs. Amazing jobs. Dozens of jobs. It will be great.
