Adytus for Chief Vizier!
Hi everyone. I just want to recap before we get started. It has been one hell of a term, and for someone that was relatively new to the game when I started, I think we have been through a lot. Under my first term, we have had a Pharaoh resign from office, a leak in the government, and an array of challenging circumstances that we have overcome. In addition, in the face of these challenges we have achieved a lot, and will continue to achieve anything we set out to do. Osiris’ foreign affairs are up and running again, solidified by our membership in the Sovereign Accords, our new alliance with the West Pacific, and our newly opened relationship with the South Pacific. We are standing in a great place international regardless of whatever pressures people may try to place on our community, and government. But it is not just internationally that we have improved, our forum is doing great, the discord always full of debate and chatter. Furthermore, the Adytus Alliance will continue to bomb the coasts of Yuno, and we would like to thank our allies for their assistance in this effort. So there is a lot going on, and a lot that we have achieved together as a team, but it is not enough just yet. There is much more we need and should be doing, new ideas that we should be open to, and I would like my administration to continue to lead us to greater achievements. I would like to thank everyone that took part in helping the government under my term! All the possible stress, time, and work is a lot to ask of anyone on an Internet game, but I think we have a great team and a talented community that is more than capable of tackling whatever issues we may face.
For anyone newer than me, I am the Anarchic Republic of Adytus, but do not worry, I believe in a sound government for Osiris! I have been playing NationStates since April of this year, and have had a lot of fun so far conquering the sharp learning curve of this game! I first started out in Lazarus, where I still hold citizenship, answering issues, and writing a factbook for my nation. After I did that for a while, I discovered the World Assembly, and passed a Security Council resolution. I still have a great interest in World Assembly affairs, and I am currently trying to finish a General Assembly proposal. My work in the World Assembly is what got me my first government job in Osiris as Sub-Vizier of World Assembly affairs, and then full Vizier of World Assembly affairs after being promoted by Pharaoh Cormac! After working as Vizier of World Assembly affairs, I ran for Chief Vizier of Osiris, and have been working in this position ever since. I love it! It is a great job, and a great opportunity to do what you can for Osiris, helping to shape it into something better while the position teaches you more about the game. In addition to this, Pharaoh Cormac appointed me as a guardian of Osiris, a position I take a lot of pride in, currently holding second most for endorsements in the region under the current Pharaoh! Working as a guardian of the region is originally why I got highly involved in Osiris. While I was in Lazarus first, I was a citizen here for a while, and the Pharaoh at the time asked me to become a guardian! So I moved my nation here, and this has been my favorite home since then! I still hold citizenship in Lazarus, but I am not very active there, nor do I hold any government position. Furthermore, I hold citizenship in the Rejected Realms, the Pacific, and Balder as well; however, I do not hold a government position, and I am not active in any of these regions. I was the cultural office in the Rejected Realms not to long ago, but Chief Vizier requires a lot of my time as it is, and I have decided it is not wise to be Chief Vizier and hold a government job elsewhere. It is a full time show, and I want to be the best I can be at it. If you have never traveled to the Rejected Realms, not much happens there typically, so the cultural job required little time to begin with, but they have a new team there that are making changes and I wish them the best of luck! Yuno is their outreach officer if that tells you anything. There is a small chance I have lost my citizenship in Balder, I have no checked in awhile. Here is the list of regions I am involved in:
Osiris CitizenshipCurrent Foreign Titles:
- Citizen of the Rejected Realms
- Citizen of Balder
- Citizen of the Pacific
- Citizen of Lazarus
While we have reached a lot of the goals I set out to accomplish, there is still much to be done. First, I think it would be a good idea to reorganize how we do citizenships and hand out jobs. Right now, you have to apply for the legion or any civil service at the same time you apply for citizenship. The problem I have with this is that a lot of new people are not sure what they are interested in, or have not decided to get involved a lot yet. And when they do decide to get involved, it is a bit confusing to go back to a citizenship and apply, or it is a bit off. I think there should be separate threads for signing up for the legion, or any particular department, started by the respected Vizier or Sub-Vizier of whatever department they are signing up for. These threads should be placed in their own forum perhaps, located under or as a sub forum of the citizenship forum. I have already had several conversations with people looking for work and they are either not sure where to go, whether to repost on their already accepted citizenship application, or who the poke for work to begin with. If we have a forum just dedicated to employment, I think it will clear up a lot of the confusion that I have come across in my first term, and help people get involved in what they are interested in. It will also help mainstream our legion recruitment, which is still a number one priority to me. The more updates we have the better, and the larger the presents we can create on the international stage, which brings me to the legion.
The Legion
Like I said, the bigger the better. We have nothing to lose from a huge updating force, given that it keeps the Pharaoh at a safe endorsement level. Recruitment for the Legion is also why I have been focusing on foreign affairs over the last couple of months. The more partners we have the larger the pool of talent Osiris has access too for training, recruitment, and raiding in general. The West Pacific maintains a large army, and the Pacific as well, two new allies of Osiris, and more than capable and willing partners to work with. Furthermore, the Legion is always looking for more partners, and hopefully we can continue this strategy of corporation, building a network of raiding partners that are responsible and respectful, benefiting Osiris wholeheartedly. If you have not noticed either, both Fedele and Yuno have been given communication permissions in order to send recruitment telegrams frequently and often. When and if I have to reappoint everyone to office after the election, I plan to make a few changes to the Legion command so people understand who they are taking orders from. Right now, I think Trans, Yuno, and Fedele handle the majority of the Legion work, and I want them all properly recognized for their work. So I will likely promote Yuno to a full Sub-Vizier so she is a member of the cabinet and is aware of what is going on, and properly title Trans with the same permissions for the army, both on discord, and on the forum. But this is all little detail stuff. In sum, the Legion needs to be bigger – that is just all it comes down to. The more people, the better all around!
Foreign Affairs
I would like to continue our current approach of reconnecting with regions that have broken relations with Osiris, and encourage better partnerships with those regions that are favorable to us; however, I do not want people to make the mistake that my administration is willing to accept terms that would hinder Osiris in order to achieve these goals. If a region, or its government members are open advocates of Osiris’ destruction, or have attempted to hinder our government, or community members in anyway, there is a firm line of respect those regions must adhere to if they are interested in talking to us. Furthermore, if a region or its major members have proclaimed that they are Osiris enemy, and enemy they will get in return. Our foreign affairs are built on mutual respect, and friendship, not tolerance. In addition, I am a strong supporter of the Sovereign Accords, and I believe they will benefit our region and community in the long run. Furthermore, I continue to support CAIN. While there have been some issues around the justification of military operations lately, I believe we have the talent in our army to identify what is creditable and what is not worth our time. Besides that, it is a tremendous project due to the number of regions involved, the character of those regions, and the unlikely partnerships that have formed as a result. As of right now, it is an endeavor worth our time, and attention, and hopefully the organization will see noticeable results in the future, if it hasn’t already. However, if at any time any of the alliances or partnerships becomes a negative influence on Osiris, my administration will work to correct these issues, and break the connection if there is no other solution. I just want what is best for Osiris, and will work my hardest to ensure this.
Internal Affairs
I think there is only one solution to this: Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash, and, you know it, Johnny Cash. I am told by my advisors that this is the best advise on the market today. But seriously, I think we have created a firm foothold on our forum and discord activity, and a few wonderful and funny roleplays to help start that moving. The Adytus-Yuno has seen a lot of involvement, as well as Vac’s soccer games. I would like to encourage everyone to consider starting your own roleplay, or become more developed in your nation. It has the capability of attracting active players, plus it is a lot of fun if you like creative writing, something this game is centered on. In addition, I think Wrektopia is doing a wonderful job, and will likely reappoint him to the position of Vizier of Internal Affairs. Since Griffin has become the new Pharaoh, we have started the practice of cabinet meetings on Sunday, which I think are a huge help in organizing the cabinet in its activities, and something I have ever intention of continuing. We have also reestablished the Council of Viziers on discord in a united chat, which has made communication wholeheartedly better since the leak that broke the chat up to begin with. I know the issue of communication was brought up recently, and I would like to do whatever I can to improve the effectiveness of the cabinet team, and reduce any infighting that could possibility occur. In order for us to all do what is best for Osiris, I think this is necessary to provide the best government we can. In addition, I want to create clear guidelines on what each vizier, including myself, should be doing, and what their responsibilities are so we know who is doing their job, what needs to be done in order to do your job, and make it a bit easier for any government that comes in after.
Well, I think that is everything! I appreciate all of your time, and thank you for reading! I have had a lot of fun during my first term, and I would like to continue doing the best I can for Osiris! Again, thank you! If you have any questions, please ask and I will be happy to answer when I can! Merry Christmas!
