Address from the Pharaoh of Osiris
On the Appointment of Adytus to the Office of Chief Vizier
Residents and citizens of Osiris, esteemed diplomats representing our allies and friends abroad, and observers throughout the world who have taken an interest in our great region:
For the past ten days, citizens of Osiris have been deliberating over two strong campaigns for Chief Vizier. Both campaigns focused on building upon the achievements accomplished during our previous terms, and indeed, we have achieved a great deal. On behalf of the people of Osiris, congratulations to both candidates for campaigns that continued our tradition of clean and civil campaigning, and which highlighted important ideas to build upon the strong community foundation we have constructed together over the past several months. Congratulations to former Chief Vizier Biyah, as well, for managing a very strong government during the previous term.
It has been nearly six months since the Transitional Government of the Osiris Fraternal Order was declared, which made way for the monarchist and meritocratic system of government that we enacted with ratification of the Scroll of Ma'at. We should all be very pleased with our progress. For the first time since 2014, we have seen six straight months of consistent activity with monthly post counts exceeding a thousand posts. This month, September, has been the most active month by post count Osiris has ever had, either on this forum or the forum that preceded it. We have not only surpassed the previous monthly post count record set in August 2014, we have shattered it, for the first time exceeding four thousand posts in a single month.
Post count isn't everything, so it is important to note other achievements. We have successfully navigated our way through a brief regional state of emergency in an orderly and peaceful way, avoiding the catastrophic community disruptions that used to occur during such times of emergency. We have dealt with a threat to our community efficiently and united as a community. We are on far stronger footing with allies and friends than we have ever been, celebrating our new alliance with Lone Wolves United during the recent Sandy Wolf Fest '16 as well as celebrating our longtime alliances with Balder and The Land of Kings and Emperors, as well as friendships with other monarchist regions, through our participation in the ongoing Monarchist Conference. The Sekhmet Legion is more active in raiding than it has been at any time since it was first founded in September 2013. We are on track to have the most endorsed Sinker Delegate in the world. Contrary to claims our detractors continue to make, Osiris is the envy of the world. This community is second to none. We are on the rise.
Rather than resting on our laurels, we will continue to rise together. We will stay true to our values, standing united on our strong monarchist foundation, confident enough in the strength of our community to reward consistent merit with constant advancement. It gives me great pride that we have seen a relative newcomer to Osiris rise from citizen, to Sub-Vizier, to Vizier, to Chief Vizier in short order, not rising in stature because of length of residency or social status but because of effort put into our community. I am therefore very pleased to appoint Adytus as Chief Vizier of Osiris, following election by a majority of the Council of Scribes to manage the Council of Viziers. Please join me in congratulating Adytus.
May the gods of the Nile turn their gaze favorably upon the Osiris Fraternal Order, a community based on brotherhood and merit.
