Appointments to the Council of Priests Pursuant to Article IV, Section 1(2) of the Scroll of Ma'at, I offer the following appointments to the Council of Priests for approval by the Council of Scribes. In anticipation of the likelihood that Neo Kervoskia will be approved to serve as Heir Apparent, given the positive outcome of discussion and current vote status, I want to make sure the Council of Priests will continue to have the number of Priests needed to efficiently function. Moreover, beyond just ensuring that NK is replaced on the Council of Priests, it occurred to me that having an even number of Priests could prove problematic in the event of a tie, so I have decided to offer two appointments to the Council of Priests in order to bring the total number of Priests to five. These appointees both have strong records of service to Osiris, and I hope the Council of Scribes will agree that they will make excellent additions to the Council of Priests.

Treize Dreizehn

During the Kemetic Republic of Osiris, Treize Dreizehn served as Kai Repat (Vice Delegate) and then as Pharaoh, having previously served in the Sepatarchy, the elected legislature, as well as serving as Vizier (Minister) of World Assembly Affairs. As most of you already know, Treize was responsible for the Osiris Imperium coup in July 2013, but given the history of Osiris and the history of the many of us who have gone on to make positive contributions after conflicts, that should not be an obstacle. Upon his return to Osiris, Treize served as a Guardian, twice served as Vizier (Vice Delegate), and briefly succeeded to the office of Pharaoh during the transitional period before election of a new Pharaoh following my resignation from office in September 2014. Treize also served as the first Keeper of the Deshret (Speaker) during the OFO's First Era and was actively and vitally involved in the drafting of most of the First Era's fundamental laws, including the State Code of Osiris. It is not overstating it to say that there is no one more qualified than Treize to serve on the Council of Priests.

Severisen Montresor

Entrusted with custody of the nation Detective Figs by Koth, to whom it had previously been entrusted by its original owner, Astarial, Sev has been a standard bearer of Osiran security since the very beginning of the First Era of the Osiris Fraternal Order. He served as a Guardian and then as Pharaoh, has served as Scribe/Vizier of Security for every Pharaoh since the OFO's inception, and has for years served as a forum administrator. He has also served in other roles such as Military Affairs and Foreign Affairs, and he has been not just a senior security official but one of the most trusted and well liked members of our community. He also has prior judicial experience in The North Pacific, which will be an asset for him on the Council of Priests given that the Council of Priests also has judicial functions. Like Tim, he will be remaining WA mobile to pursue his military commitments elsewhere, but there is no question that he is available to assist in protecting Osiris whenever needed.

My appointees and I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns the Council of Scribes may have.

Treize has always had my complete trust with the OFO. I support his appointment.

Does the Pharaoh have a maximum number of Priests in mind?

I don't intend to have more than five at a time, at least for the foreseeable future. I don't want to take voters away from the Council of Scribes or hinder talented citizens from seeking the office of Chief Vizier or Chief Scribe in the future. Any of our Priests would do an excellent job in either of those offices, but I have confirmed with my appointees that they would not be interested in either office.

It's possible that at some later date, with a larger community, a higher number like seven Priests would be appropriate. But for the foreseeable future and given our present size and activity, five seems to be a reasonable maximum.

I concur with your opinion.

While I do not know Treize Dreizehn well and therefore cannot make an informed judgement, I think Sev is eminently qualified for Priesthood.
