The Oncoming Storm: OOC Discussion
Posted: Tue May 31, 2016 5:04 am
The opening chapter of The Oncoming Storm, setting the stage for the RP, has been posted. This is the thread for OOC discussion as the RP goes on.
Please note that you have two options for your character. They can either join me in the battle for Alexandria or join Tim in the battle to retake Abydos. I should note Tim hasn't been around in a few days so take that as you will.
Some very basic ground rules as we get started:
1. We're still taking sign-ups while this is ongoing. That may stop at some point if we're too far in for new participants, but right now feel free to sign up and participate if you like what you see and want to join in.
2. We're doing this like we did the previous Enemy at the Gate RP. Each participant should post a master thread in the city they chose when they signed up. This master thread will contain your main storytelling, and nobody should be posting in anyone else's master thread. Participants are free to create secondary threads for interaction between characters, and all of the involved participants are free to post in those secondary threads. The important thing is to leave each participant's master thread to them.
3. Please refrain from writing too much for other participants' characters. It's best to leave writing for their own characters to them. If you're going to include writing for others' characters in your storytelling, try to keep it limited, and if possible try to ask them about it first.
4. Basic RP rules. No godmodding. Light fantasy is allowed but don't go crazy. Don't kill other participants' characters. Etc. If you have a question about whether something is going too far in regard to fantasy elements, etc., let's discuss it here first.
5. Don't write the ultimate fate of Alexandria, Joshua Ravenclaw, the Cetaceans, etc. As game master, that will be the last chapter I write to wrap up the RP, which is also going to set the foundation for how we'll be moving forward with the Great Cities project.
If anyone has anything else to add, feel free. Any OOC discussion should be confined to this thread and shouldn't take place in the RP threads.
Let's have fun with this, it's been a while since we had an RP going.
