I am truly humbled to have been elected as your Chief Scribe for the 1^st session of our legislature. I affirm to fulfil this role truthfully and to the very best of my ability.

I would like to appoint legislative deputies to assist me in the smooth operation of this Council. If this is something you think you would like to do, please indicate in this thread.

Closing date for nomination is 3 days from this post but it is flexible.

Although I'm new, I would be interested in serving as a deputy.

For the sake of clarity, could you briefly summarize the responsibilities of a Legislative Deputy?

Of course, it would be my pleasure.

I believe tradition in the Deshret was for Curators to be present but not actively involved in the administration of the legislature. While this system worked, I intend for my deputies to have a greater presence in the Council.

Depending on how the government proceeds with handling citizenship rolls, the legislative administration may take lead on it. In which, I will assign one of my deputies to keep track of citizens and ensure that we have a current list.

Similarly, as I live in Australia, I imagine the time difference between here and where you live is considerable. As such, when a motion to vote is heard and seconded twice, it would be my expectation that the first Chief Scribe/Deputy Scribe will preside over the vote and the subsequent tally.

I will, in the near future, develop an internal ordinance for this and distribute it to my deputies.

Conclusively, what I aim for in this Council is a sense of efficiency and continuity. I trust in my deputies to aid in fulfilling this vision.
