Good day my fellow Osirans,

As some of you may know, I am seeking election for the position of Chief Scribe :)

This is indubitably not a role which necessitates ambitious vision but rather leans more towards the administrative side of politics. I have in my previous capacities as Curator of the then-Deshret and Director of Ceremonies (Lazarus) been required to fulfil the duties of 'legislative speaker'. As such, I believe that I have amassed experience and knowledge to exercise the powers of this office with competency.

Naturally, I feel compelled to detail my plan should I be elected:
It is my intention to, at the commencement of each week, produce a 'government gazette' which will be distributed amongst scribes. This gazette will feature recent news on discussions, votes, and the like, and will be published once a week, thereby allowing more effort to be focused on a periodic publication. The Gazette will be distributed on the forum in a thread which provides more freedom to publish greater amounts and more in-depth information.

I disagree with Article II of the Scroll of Ma'at which states that if the office of Chief Scribe is vacant, or for the duration of discussion and voting on a motion to remove the Chief Scribe from office, the business of the Council will be administered by the Pharaoh or by a Priest. I believe that there should be a firm separation of government branches and I think this is vital for good governance. As such, I hope that this Council will consider allowing an amendment to grant powers to legislative deputies to commence discussion/voting/vote-closure where the Chief Scribe is absent.

Well, there you go Ladies and Gentlemen :) An incredibly drab and mind-bogglingly boring 'campaign'. I do sincerely hope that you will consider voting for me. As always, I am open to any questions/suggestions/blistering critiques you may have. ;)

This merits further consideration, and I look forward to seeing the results of an eventual legislative discussion on this. Would you still support the Pharaoh or a Priest administering the business of the Council if there are no deputies appointed or if the deputies are inactive, or would you prefer an alternative mechanism and, if so, what alternative?

Thanks, and best of luck!

Thank you.

I have the intention of appointing two deputies and I would hope that the three of us are not inactive at the same time.

If by some coincidence, we are, I would advocate for the longest serving scribe to temporarily administer the business of the Council until such time that a Chief Scribe can be elected.

I would like to reiterate that I'm absolutely available for questioning by anyone :)

You talk about your experience, but I was wondering if you could discuss further why you are interested in this position? You ran for a position soon after returning as a citizen a month ago and now this, so it comes off a bit like running to get a position in Osiris rather than running for this position. Therefore, more insight would be appreciated!

Absolutely!

I think of myself as a person who is only good at two things, legislating and administering. It is why, in all my time in GCRs, I have never ventured far into executive staffing nor sought election to executive offices. I play to my strengths which are organization and crafting laws.

I harbor no intentions of ever serving in the Palace of Vizers and can only imagine myself here in the Council of Scribes.

I hope that answers your question :)
