The Gospel of Ike

Early this month, around the time of my 3rd NS anniversary, I was invited by a good friend to return to Osiris after a long absence and serve as his Scribe of Media. Having been this position's equivalent in Lazarus, I figured I was qualified enough and decided to take him up on that offer. Relations between me and The Almighty Jesus Whale have been shaky before, but he is my friend, and I decided that there wasn't much going on in Lazarus that demanded my commitment, especially after losing the vote for Grandee Secretary.

This was, of course, provided he could win the election. I ignored that for a few days before seeing that a second one had been scheduled. I was filled in on the circumstances of the vote, and watched closely as Jesus Whale beat out Cormac by just one vote. I thought that was the end of it, that Cormac, seeing that he had lost, would accept his defeat.

But no, he decided to give it one last push. I get it if he was desperate, after all, power is tantalizing. The recall vote was absolutely stupid, of course. Crushed by a 90% margin. Alright, I thought. Finally it's over, that ass will leave JW alone and we can just get to the confirmation, though presumably he'd boycott all the nominations.

What I didn't expect was for him to take his childish temper tantrum and multiply it by a hundred. Immediately after seizing power with Tim, he claimed that this was a security measure to protect Osiris from a divisive figure, stop the recent toxicity, and protect against the 'dangerous cult of personality' surrounding Jesus Whale. Based on the paranoid argument that his cabinet was made up of mostly supporters (not an unusual thing), and that JW was some sort of dangerous plant waiting to coup Osiris, he decided to take power for himself and completely subvert the democratic process. Of course he claims it's in the best interests of the region, but when 90% of the population votes to keep the Pharaoh, generally, that means you keep the Pharaoh. Well, Cormac, I'd like to tell you something.

How dumb do you think we are?

Some false pretense of 'security' and 'stability' and a whole ton of bullshit about keeping us safe, only disguises this blatant power grab. It is a coup d'etat and nothing more, because you decided to act like a child rather than to grow up and work with the system. And of course, you say that this is only temporary, long as you cooperate everything will be fine when business is back to normal. This is a lie, a complete fabrication.

What's hilarious is that you've taken to calling the legitimate government of the OFO "traitors" and aggressors. Well let me tell you something, Cormac. You're the traitor. You've finally gotten so desperate over how you can't win a god damn election that you decided you'd act like a child and take over the region. During the elections, you made some terrible digs at Jesus Whale, and suggested that if he won, Osiris would be torn apart, maybe even leading to some sort of conflict. A stupid prediction. You even mocked his statement about a 'cabal', calling it ridiculous. And then you and a cabal overthrew the government.

Yet not only have you fulfilled your own terrible prophecy, you've done it intentionally. I've been called many things before, most of all immature, I've been treated like a child, and by God sometimes I've acted like one. But nothing compares to this pathetic and cowardly attempt to subvert democracy. You are a traitor with terrible tendencies, and your attitude is the most pretentious I've ever seen in the world of gameplay. You've betrayed the region, and you've betrayed the OFO. You've turned your back on democracy and every good person in this region.

You are not the Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order. You are the mastermind of a tyrannical regime, presenting a simulacrum of legitimacy and authority. The Pharaoh of the OFO is The Almighty Jesus Whale, who was elected democratically, and when you whined, further affirmed by 90 percent of the region. We are the only government of the region, you and your cronies are just a gang of traitors.

When I was trying to get back into Lazarus, after making many mistakes, and after a long time plus a long apology, you opposed restoration of my citizenship, one of the reasons being that I supposedly didn't do anything to resist the NLO coup while you were actively fighting back against the traitorous gang of five. Almost exactly a year later, we see hypocrisy at its finest. Time harmonizes, I guess. After a few months of repentance, I was able to get back into the region I love. When the OFO regains Osiris, I am certain you won't find the same mercy.

You deserve to be kicked out of this region and never let back in it again. You lost the election, you lost the recall, and you've lost your GP reputation. You've never had a good one in the first place, anyway. Your boundless career hopping from raider to defender proved you don't know what consistency is, and your raid with Thomas against the region of Madrigal, which destroyed its flourishing community, is worthy of unequivocal condemnation. And I'm informed that this isn't even your first coup. But it is absolutely the most childish and stupid of them all.

And this goes for the people that back him too. Koth and Tim, what the hell? You've lost all the respect built up for you. If you wanted to coup for the lolz, fine, whatever, but this of all things is the worst possible thing you could've done. Backing such a figure like Cormac destroys what respect I ever had for you people. And I have to throw some shade at his supporters. I'm looking at Syl, Ikand and a few others. The OFO won't forget this. I'm hoping that you guys will prove me wrong here, and come back to fight for the legitimate government. I really do, because I really respected a lot of you before.

I've chosen to express my strong disapproval in a less inflammatory way until I was ready to be kicked for 'sedition'. It's not sedition, it's speaking out. And of course, I had Jesus Whale tell me to tone it down a bit, which I did, but I want to be as strong and clear as possible Cormac and his cronies have committed treason against the Osiris Fraternal Order, and by God, when we get back, justice will be swift and unrelenting. This coup is a disastrous, illegal betrayal against all Osirans, and I know what one day, the OFO will emerge victorious.

Long live the OFO and its Pharaoh Jesus Whale,

Ikania

I know not how many more apostles will follow. But I encourage every disciple to write their own gospel and spread the good word.

This is how the opposition behave themselves:
[7:15:40 PM] Ike: Alright
[7:15:42 PM] Ike: But before I go
[7:15:45 PM] Ike: At least let me say this
[7:15:47 PM] Ike: Fuck you, Cormac.
[7:15:50 PM] Ike: that's all
[7:15:55 PM | Edited 7:15:58 PM] Kajan: is Cormac a little upset that people don't like him
[7:16:05 PM] Kajan: poor boy
[7:16:10 PM] Ike: I leave with dignity.
[7:16:28 PM] Cormac: Leaving by flaming is leaving with dignity? Interesting take on dignity. :P
[7:16:45 PM] Ike: I just need the gratification of saying it to your face
[7:16:51 PM] Ike: Fuck you, and your career. Nothing more.
[7:18:13 PM] Sopo: Don't worry. It won't be long.
[7:19:16 PM] Ike: Can't be long till a room mod sees it
[7:19:30 PM] Ike: But meh, I've said what I needed to say
[7:23:10 PM] Sopo: No, the coup won't be long
[7:23:20 PM] Ike: Well, I hope so.
[7:23:32 PM] Ike: But I've been around 3 years and haven't paid attention to too many coups
[7:23:42 PM] Ike: Usually it runs till the dictator gets tired right
[7:23:57 PM] Cormac: I like your confidence, considering the opposition's only tactic seems to be to smear me, and you don't have a single Guardian on your side as yet.
[7:24:07 PM] Ike: go fuck yourself, cormac
[7:24:07 PM] Sopo: Or they're overthrown

And?

I'm unapologetic. I said what I wanted to say and now it's said. I stand by that statement and I will until the end. Now you can go onto the GP forum and say "well look at the kind of people whose support he attracts". You and GPers know exactly what I'm like. This isn't an unprecedented affront to you, and it's nothing compared to the smear campaign and character assassination that you've conducted.

Hell, I could have kept going. And I would, but I want to maintain at least a degree of civility. All that "you're sinking to his level" crap. You've already proven the kind of person you are, and my kind acknowledgement of your nature was all I needed to say. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

More or less, yeah. Maybe sometimes I'm not good with words, but that's the gist.

With all due respect, Bob Morley, what kind of rebuttal is that? That's a childish act itself. Rather, instead of attacking points Ike has made in his statement, you'd attempt to destroy his character. I get it, you break the foundation of a building and it cannot stand.

However, that's not much of an argument you have there. Ike has been around for quite some time now and an attack like that does not hold for much. There is nothing wrong with being passionate about what you believe in. Look at Bill O'Riley, a man with clear temper issues, though he is still very well respected in his field. Even so, it may be best not to be hypocritical, though, as your behavior is far more immature.

I was told the election was lost 9-10. A respectable defeat at that. I can almost understand your concern for the security of the region. Now I hear of the recall election. Can you explain how in the fuck you believe that you should be the head of the region after losing so poorly?

As always, I'm attempting to see things from both sides of the story, so I would like you to respond to that point.

Thanks Frank. It's also important to note that Jesus Whale was subjected to a third vote, in which 90% of the region voted to keep the Pharaoh.

Spread the gospel and preach it on the streets. Praise Jesus Whale!
