Transitional Government and State of Emergency

Post by Cormac »

An Address from the Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order
Declaring a Transitional Government and State of Emergency

My fellow residents of Osiris, citizens of the Osiris Fraternal Order, and our friends and allies abroad:

As many of you are already aware, the recent forum election for Pharaoh was fraught with controversy and divided the community of the Osiris Fraternal Order in half. The first contentious round of voting resulted in re-opening of nominations, but not before one candidate, The Almighty Jesus Whale, attempted to be elected Pharaoh by switching his own vote at the last minute to vote for himself, instead of voting to re-open nominations as he and half the community had agreed. The second round of voting concluded by a margin of one vote, with last minute votes and vote switches cast by citizens who now appear among The Almighty Jesus Whale's list of cabinet nominees. The vast majority of The Almighty Jesus Whale's cabinet nominees had, in fact, voted for him in the forum election, an indication of possible political patronage and corruption. Other voting anomalies have also been questioned by citizens of the Osiris Fraternal Order.

The outgoing Pharaoh, Tim Stark, and I have concluded that with such controversy and perceived manipulation, the results of the recent forum election cannot stand. Moreover, we have decided that the Delegacy of Osiris can no longer be subject to forum election, lest the questionable tactics used in the recent forum election be repeated in the future due to a desire to attain the power of the regional Delegacy. The Pharaoh will continue to serve as Delegate and head of state, and will choose a successor upon retirement, adapting our own version of the monarchist model that has proven so stable and prosperous in so many regions, including our sister Sinker, Balder.

With the assent of the outgoing Pharaoh, I have succeeded to the office of Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order, and I have appointed the outgoing Pharaoh to serve as my Vizier. As your Pharaoh and as co-founder of the Osiris Fraternal Order, it is my solemn duty to announce nullification of the State Code of Osiris, which has served this regional community well but no longer meets our needs, and declaration of a state of emergency. For the duration of this state of emergency, full sovereign authority will be vested in a Transitional Government of the Osiris Fraternal Order headed by the Pharaoh. After regional stabilization, this state of emergency will be rescinded and new terms and conditions for the operation of governmental, legislative, and judicial institutions will be established.

Residents, citizens, and our friends and allies now face serious choices which must be quickly decided.

The Almighty Jesus Whale has, due to his high endorsement count and regional influence level, been ejected and banned to ensure the security of Osiris. Should he choose to cooperate with this Transitional Government, he will be permitted to immediately return to Osiris with a puppet nation, and in time his main nation will be permitted to return when its regional influence has diminished.

Should the remaining Guardians of the Osiris Fraternal Order choose to cooperate with this Transitional Government, they will continue as regional Guardians. To demonstrate their cooperation, we ask the Guardians to endorse the Pharaoh and Vizier, and to refrain from exceeding any endorsement limit we set for Guardians.

Should residents and citizens choose to cooperate with this Transitional Government, life in Osiris will continue as usual for them without disruption. It is not our desire to conduct purges or to exact any kind of retribution. We are interested only in peace, order, and good government that meets the needs of our regional community.

If, on the other hand, any resident or citizen refuses to cooperate, and instead engages or assists in aggression against this Transitional Government, they will in due course be ejected and banned. Depending on the gravity of their aggression and the level of risk we judge they pose to future security and stability, they may face permanent exile from Osiris as enemies of the state. This will not be a judgment we will render lightly, as it is not our wish to disrupt or divide the regional community, but it is a judgment we will render whenever we believe it is necessary to safeguard the security and stability of Osiris.

Should friends and allies recognize this Transitional Government as the legitimate continuation of the Osiris Fraternal Order, we will continue to recognize them as friends and allies. If, on the other hand, any foreign power engages or assists in aggression against this Transitional Government, their forces will in due course be ejected and banned, and we may be compelled to reevaluate our friendships, alliances, or alignment in light of such aggression. Aggression against the Osiris Fraternal Order will never be forgotten. Support in difficult times will always be remembered.

It is the hope of this Transitional Government that these choices are clear to all, and that all will make the right choices. We do not wish for conflict, but we will not shy away from it. The peace and order of Osiris are at stake, and we will not stand down in doing what we must to protect this regional community from manipulation and division. The corruption and chaos that the Osiris Fraternal Order was founded to drive from this region will never again reign over Osiris. Let us all come together and make this a time of renewal, reviving the core values of perseverance, independence, and, most of all, fraternity that form the foundation of the Osiris Fraternal Order.

All parties will have 72 hours to make their choices. Any act of aggression against this Transitional Government will, in the meantime, be interpreted as a definitive choice in favor of aggression, and will be met with a swift response. May we instead move forward as sisters and brothers.

Signed, on behalf of the Transitional Government of the Osiris Fraternal Order:

Cormac Montresor-Stark
Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order
Co-Founder of the Osiris Fraternal Order

I'll a little confused as to what the reasoning is for this. It comes off like the co-founders of Osiris and Tim are putting themselves ahead of the community, so any logic would be greatly appreciated.

Regents?
[6/3/2016 19:34:30] Lord Mazrim Rahl (Biyah): obviously she was gathering spell regents, so she could cast her end-of-term mass death spell. Young sorceress' must kill their Master before they are allowed to leave.

Enough acting, Cormac. You revealed your true colors. Your actions combined with those of Tim and Koth are disgusting, to say the least. You have NO authority to declare yourself a Delegate. You are just a coward that could not stand being beaten in an election. You should be ashamed of yourself and the coup that you have started.

This region forgave you once, but when this is all over and the Delegacy goes back in the right hands, I will guarantee that you and your conspirators will never set foot in Osiris, Cormac.

Well, you can't say Osiris doesn't love you, Mr. Delegate.

The reasoning for this is the election manipulation we have articulated in our statement, and a desire to secure the Delegacy of Osiris against such manipulation.

I will note -- and this is directed primarily at Tomb -- that calls for the overthrow of this Transitional Government, in any venue including this thread, will be interpreted as aggression. This is the only warning I will give.

I will not be supporting a band of traitors who don't give a penny about this region.

With this coup, you have basically spelt it out, Cormac. You don't care about this region, and neither do any of your fellow conspirators. All you care about is your political gains and positions. And It is shameful. Absolutely shameful. You have disregarded all rule and due process of law. You have disregarded and basically destroyed all the work that people put into this community trying to bring it back on its feet.

As for your threats and warnings, do what you will. I do not recognize you as my Pharaoh, in fact, you're not anyone's Pharaoh here. You have no legal standing whatsoever in this region. The current Pharaoh is The Almight Jesus Whale.
