Good evening,
I hope most of you know who I am. As has been pointed out before, I've been the Scribe of Security for every Pharaoh since I was Pharaoh, nearly 2 years ago now. I've been in the Deshret since there has been a Deshret. I am the longest continuously serving member of the Deshret, having joined right after the start of the Osiris Fraternal Order. I'm also concurrently serving in the equivalent position of Curator in The East Pacific.
I decided to run on a whim, having seen only Amerion standing at the time. I thought a contested election would be better for Osiris, though had I known Jakker was going to run, I may have reconsidered. Jakker has done an admirable job. I would fully support another Jakker term. I think Amerion could be a potential candidate in the future, but given that he was only readmitted to the Deshret yesterday, I thought it may be beneficial to have someone with a bit more time under their belt.
I don't have a campaign. I don't have a list of promises for the Deshret. We're headed down a bad path right now. We don't need further divergence; we need unity. We need someone who can put out the fires that are starting, and it can't wait any longer. In some ways, and I know Jakker will appreciate this, it feels like We Didn't Start the Fire, and instead it was always burning... from the beginning of Osiris, through the KRO and at various times of the OFO. The OFO was born in conflict. I'm not saying we all have to get along and agree on everything--in fact, that's one thing that makes any region great--but we do have to start treating each other better.
What do I think we need to do? I think we need to take a good, long, hard look at our State Code as well as our other laws. We're in a stage of growing pains. This is the longest surviving government in Osiran history, and it's only natural that what worked in the beginning, or middle, is not necessarily what works best now. One of the mottos I try to live my life by is "Today, I will be a better ______ than I was yesterday" where I fill in the blank with an appropriate role. I think that's what we need in Osiris. We can always be a better Osiris than we were yesterday. We will be a better Osiris than we were yesterday. The true power of Osiris, and indeed, in any region so conceived, is in its legislature.
I know that if I lose to Jakker, Osiris will be in good hands. I won't even be mad. It's a nice position to be in. He's one of my oldest friends in the game, and has been a mentor, and brother to me, for a long time. He's offered his support to me in this endeavor, and I thank him for that trust.
I'll answer any questions you may have of me.
I know some of you may not vote for me due to a variety of reasons. I can accept that, if the reason is you don't think I'll do this well. If it's a personal grudge, then we're no better off than we were before I said the words "I stand for Keeper." All I can do is ask you to join me for the ride.

Why run against a close friend like Jakker then?

I decided to run first, Festavo. That would necessarily imply that he decided to run against me For my part, I know that I can handle losing to Jakker if that's how the cards fall and that our relationship is above a position and an election. Our love is more mature than that.

Severisen, what would you do to try to bring an end to this conflict that has become commonplace recently?

For my part, I'm going to strictly enforce and monitor threads for personal attacks and heated arguments that cross into personal territory. In my capacity as a forum administrator, as well as in the capacity of the Office of the Keeper, I will admonish those who cross the line regardless of my personal relationship with said individuals.
I think establishing, adhering to and enforcing a code of conduct to which all members of the Deshret would sign on to may also be a potential solution to that problem.

I have yet to see you use your authority as administrator to stop personal attacks. Why should we believe you will do so as Keeper?

In the history of this forum, the administration has largely had a hands off approach. This hasn't worked. There have been very few forum warnings given out. I have issued one of the very few warnings ever issued on this forum, to Cormac, for his attacks on NES, probably before you were a member of Osiris. In addition, I am not always visible in my methods, in that I often prefer to send someone a message, usually via Skype, to tell them to knock off the attacks. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
