Change of plans I decided to shuffle someone around.

This is a pretty good crop of Scribes in my opinion, so I hope we'll all be satisfied with them, I know I am.

Vizier: Joshua Bluteisen

Josh has served as Vizier for just about every God damn Pharaoh save that one time Jakker was Vizier for a bit :P. He's a solid guy, we can all trust him, and he sits on more influence than anyone in the region. He won't coup and he has more than enough endorsements to be a good Vizier in addition to doing hi everyday job of tarting. I have a guardian in mind to add another body onto the pot as we're about to be down to three guardians for the first time in a while.

Scribe of Justice: Festavo

Since Shad is out, I found someone who I think will be able to adequately manage the Justice department. Fest knows the laws, and if needed I know he can be the guy to prosecute infractions of the law fairly and competently.

Scribe of Culture: Andrew

Andrew has served as our Scribe of WA Affairs, Media, a regular everyday councilor, and Keeper. He's done a lot for Osiris and I trust that he will be able to work with me in the mission to revitalize Osiran culture. We've discussed the possibilities of planning and attempting to host a Festival, but the next one is in June, so who knows. He's reliable and trustworthy, and we all know him. I know he'll be on top of Osiran of the Week and other fun contests he has ideas for.

Scribe of Communal Activities: Yuno

Yuno really loves roleplay, and I think we can confirm that she is a very active member of the RMB, the skype channel, and here on the forum. Communal Activities is fancy speak for Roleplay, since Scribe of Roleplay didn't sound professional. Regardless of that, I know she will do a good job prodding people into starting roleplays, and facilitating roleplays among people who are really interested in it.

Scribe of Integration: Revall

Integration was a very important plank of my campaign, and I hope to make it a cornerstone of my term. Revall is an active and trustworthy member of the community, and I turned to him after my first choice decided to not take up the position because he attempted outreach to region members before on his own. Now, with myself as a partner, and hopefully more people to assist, he'll have more success at the head of the Integration Corps and will make us all proud.

Scribe of Media: Ike

I've known Ike for almost two years, and while he's worked with some issues regarding his maturity, he's definitely not the same person I met in the closing days of 2014. He was a good writer then and he continues to be a good writer, and for that reason I've pressganged him into taking up Media so that we can revitalize the Oracle. I've let him know what I want the Oracle to be, and he's given me assurances that he'll try his best to do for the Oracle what I hope to do for the region.

Scribe of WA Affairs: Tomb

Tomb has served in this position before and it's a pretty straightforward post. I myself never really got into WA stuff, I always thought it was a bit too close knit for new entry, and never put in the effort to get educated. I hope Tomb can help me change this and through the mentor program work to teach others as well.

Scribe of War: Kyorgia

Kyorgia was described as a cosmopolitan raider who was a part of many major organizations. I feel that this experience will be the new foundation needed to restructure and reorganize the Legion so that we may begin the rebuilding process. He's a smart guy and I know that with his expertise, he'll be able to help us out big time.

Scribe of Security: Severisen

Not a lot needs to be said here. Sev one of the cement foundation blocks of our community and he is extremely serious about Osiran security and I trust him to continue doing the excellent job that multiple Pharaohs have entrusted him to do.

Hail, Osirans!

Our Holey Savior told me to come over here and give a short speech on why I'd make an alright Scribe of Media. So here's your regularly-scheduled programming:

I am confident that I am capable of holding the position of Media Scribe. When I first went to Lazarus after spending my time in UCRs, I became one of the most prolific writers for the Lazarene Gazette. Eventually, I became Editor-in-Chief, which is equivalent to the Media Scribe position. Under my watch, the Gazette pumped out multiple weekly articles. It wasn’t a super long time that I held that position, but my capabilities for the post are demonstrated well.

Since my return to Lazarus I’ve written multiple articles, and also a (quite trashy) TRT piece. I’m ready to fully dedicate my NS career to this job, given that there’s not much else I have to do in this game. Given my past and my qualifications, I believe I can execute the post of Media Scribe well. If not, well, Jesus Cristo el Whaledentor can ditch me like the NDP ditched Mulcair.

Thanks for listening, and pre-emptive hugs and thanks if you help confirm me. And maybe a cookie.

Maybe.

Full support. Ike has been an invaluable part of the Lazarus community and I'm sure he will do Osiris justice as Scribe of Media.

I'm curious why Culture is being separated from "Communal Activities," and what exactly Andrew will be doing as Scribe of Culture beyond maintaining Osiran of the Week and a festival. Those don't require a full department with its own Scribe, and I'm confident Yuno could manage those as well while managing role play.

You've noted that some of these nominees, like Andrew and Tomb, have served on the Hedjet and in other offices before, and listed their previous titles. But what achievements have they had during their previous service? Given they do have measurable records, I think it's worth looking at whether they were effective during their prior service and whether we can see from that prior service that they will be effective now. My recollection of their prior service is that they did indeed hold several pretty titles but were otherwise fairly inactive while their activity was concentrated primarily in other regions. Perhaps your recollection differs.

Does it bother you that so much of your Hedjet is comprised of people who voted for you? Even when you had me as a potential nominee for Integration, five of your nominees were also your voters. Now six were your voters. Only three of your nominees didn't vote for you, and two couldn't vote. One of your nominees (Andrew) voted on the last day of the election and another (Kyorgia) switched his vote within twenty minutes of that, also on the last day, ensuring your victory by a one vote margin. Another of your nominees (Tomb) viciously attacked me in my campaign thread during the election period. Shadoke and Revall were also among your most vocal defenders and attack surrogates during the election. Yuno voted for you in the first round of voting but couldn't vote in the second round due to loss of citizenship in the interim. Looks like political patronage.

Is there something wrong with people who didn't vote for you -- nearly half the community -- that so few of them are nominated to your Hedjet? Do they give off a funny odor some of us have missed?

LOL, I was the 2nd choice for the position I never expected to serve in the Hedjet at all until in one of your legendary fits of rage you abruptly decided to not serve as a Scribe heck you can have it back if you are so keen on it.

Cormac adds political patronage to the list of "reasons" he *gasp* LOST an election. Should have seen it coming since you slyly started accusing him of political patronage during the election cycle itself.

The last time we had a close pharaoh election (between Fest and Ainocra), none of the 10 people that voted for Ainocra were on Fest's Hedjet. Just wanted to throw that out there as a point of reference.

And the last time that happened I wasn't here to raise it as an issue.

I honestly DO NOT CARE about becoming a scribe or whatever label you give me, I just want the rights to do more stuff, make more threads, (ESPECIALLY managing that RP) because these peeps are inactive and it's boring. A regular citizen or deshret can't find much stuff to do besides voting. The only reason I voted Jesus was because he made the BEST thread, proposed the best ideas and had the criminal RP proposal going on which won me over from voting Syl-senpai. I based my support upon the ideas I liked best. Ideas to get out of this boredom! It took a hell lot of reading, every single thread. I don't wish to be questioned over my reading comprehension. You can boot me out of scribe-ship but at least let me manage all the fun things (which aren't generating any activity, so I reeeaally want to give this a shot and if I fail and someone is smarter and better at this than me, they can replace me)!!!!! Thanks~

Uh, Yuno, while you are one of the people who voted for Jesus Whale, I don't have any particular problem with you serving as a Scribe. My question is why he has so heavily selected his Hedjet from among his voters, which is a criticism of him, not you.
