Tim Stark - Opening Address
[class=members]Tim Stark[/class] steps up to the stage and turns on his microphone[/center]
All in all, I don't have much to say here. I think an opening address is rather pointless for our purposes, given that everything important is already said in the campaign thread. However, I'll talk anyway.
Nothing will stop us from getting these goals, nothing my friends. Osiris is destined for success, even more success than we already have. We're only going up, and I plan to see that continue. That's the goal, man.
Do not let naysayers, subversives, purists, defenders, imperialists, independents, neutrals, roleplayers, generalites, or anybody else tell us otherwise. Fuck the haters, Osiris is great, and we're only going to get greater.
How will I do that, you might ask. Because I don't believe in wasting breath, as well as time, I'll simply refer you to my campaign thread. If, after reading that, you have more questions, hit me up. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, no matter how silly!
I believe that you'll be content, and I'll be content with that. Afterall, you elected me, so clearly y'all have at least some amount of faith in my abilities as Pharaoh. Hell, did you see? Even NES voted for me, which was an absolute shocker.
So, moving on, I think we're done with this part of the speech. You all want to know what I'm actually going to do, so I'm going to tell you! Well, I'm going to kind of tell you, most of it is in the campaign thread already so I'll skip around.
No, I wasn't kidding about that wall. It was a campaign promise, and I will indeed be providing Balder a declaration that Osiris wishes to build a wall between Osiris and Balder while making NES pay for it. I keep my promises, Osirans, this one is no exception.
A more serious person than I may get flustered and yell at me for not taking Foreign Relations seriously. That person is probably an Imperialist, and might also have the name of Onderkelkia. While I appreciate my alter-ego's concerns, I know what I'm doing.
More immediate actions will include a joke coup as soon as I am put into the Delegacy, so we can see how many people freak out and all be in on this joke while people who don't read our forum aren't. It's all about getting publicity, folks, it's all about it.
Entering the really serious part of this post, Hedjet nominations will now be happening. I realize these are pretty important, so I hope my choices will be satisfactory for you all, and I'm happy to elaborate more on any of them.
If you're curious why not all are filled, that simply comes down to two factors. One, my intended candidates having gotten back to me, which is always problematic when I want to nominated them. Two, it's the usual problem of "nobody I want available".
Some people may get pissed off at those reasons, but I promise we'll function just as well with a bit of lag on a few of my Hedjet members, and Osiris will still prosper. Don't worry about it folks, stuff will still be great, and the government will run smoothly!
Justice and Security will remain unfilled for the time being. Given that I intend to nominate Severisen, and he's been MIA, I can wait. Ivo will not be remaining Justice Scribe as I want a Hedjet I can actually trust, so Justice will be assigned soon here.
Of course, there are more positions to fill, and some of them are very key to the continued success of Osiris. Therefore, for Culture, I will be appointing Kyorgia. He's done well this term, and I'd like to see him continue with his efforts in the position.
Hopping over to what is basically the opposite of Culture, we've got the Scribe of War. I'm more than happy to welcome Festavo back as my War Scribe. My was a standout Hedjet member in my first two terms, and I have no doubt he'll continue with quality.
Now, as I already stated previously, I am dissolving both World Assembly Affairs and Foreign Affairs. I prefer dealing with both of those myself, and plan to do so. If I'm unable to continue that, I will, of course, nominate a Scribe, but do not plan to at this time.
Continuing with my Hedjet, we'll have a new face joining the Media Department. I'm excited to name Marselesk, also known as Kleo, as my Media Scribe! I've got a lot of faith in his potential and drive, and believe he'll excel greatly in this position.
Enterprising individuals are great to have, and I believe that all members of my intended Hedjet Team are exactly that. A vibrant, active, and welcoming Osiris is the goal, and I think this is the group that can make that vision happen in the best way.
Now, the suspense must be killing you all. Who is Tim's Vizier? Who is it? Is it Cormac? Is it Ravania? Is it, dare we suggest it, Mahaj? Nope, it's Joshua Bluteisen. He's a solid guy, trustworthy, experienced, a top tier Vizier for a top tier Administration.
Anyways, I realize we also have vacancies in the Pschent, and could use some more Atef members. That's also on the agenda, but we'll have to wait on that as it's an issue finding people who want to commit to those positions. So yeah, that's my speech.
