Elect Amy for Keeper
Hello everyone!
As you can see, my name is Amy, and I am running to be the Keeper of the Deshret because I know my real world experience has empowered me to be able to lead. At the age of 20 I founded my own small business, and it has grown so much these past few years under not only my leadership, but the hardworking employees who come to work everyday.
If you elect me Keeper of the Deshret, we will grow out of proportion, we will work hard, we will captivate the hearts of the many who reside here, and we will draw more people through a series of recruitment telegrams informing the people just how much opportunity they would have here under my leadership.
I will make it my flagship purpose to compel all citizens to have WA membership so that this region can assert more dominance, I want to bring real change, meaningful change to this region, and the people of it. I know how to do that. I know how to bring change, because through hell, or through high waters I driven a business through tough times, and so help me God, I will push our region through whatever obstacles this game has to offer.
I don't want to drag on, but there is so much I want to tell you about! So I would ask all of you to send me a private message so I can explain in full detail the vision I have to make this more real for all of us.
A vote for Amy, is a vote for change.
Let's buckle up, the ride is just beginning.

Amy, I do not know you but welcome to Osiris and best of luck with the Keeper election
You joined Osiris a week ago and are now running for Keeper. What made you join Osiris? Why should the region elect someone that just joined the region?
Also, you want to force all citizens to have WA here. How will you make that logistically possible? Several people even in the Hedjet do not have WA in Osiris. Are you saying that those of us that don't should not be citizens?

Thank you for your question Jakker!
1. Although I am relatively new to the region, I am not new to the game. I have years of experience in Nation States. I recognize that so do many of my colleagues who are also running for Keeper. I am new to the region, but voting for me is not signing a blank check. I have a proven track record in the real the world and in Nation States itself. We need to elect someone with the qualifications, not just the one who has served the longest time in the region.
2. Now clearly there are obstacles in the way of forcing all nations to have WA membership, and the language I used did imply mandatory WA membership; however that is not what I said. I said I would compel the membership, obviously people who cannot logistically join the WA would not apply to the law.
And thank you Tomb:) Best of luck to you to! Like I've said many times, it's not about me winning, it's about the best choice winning! So as the saying goes: may the best (wo)man win! )

I'd like to hear more about your prior involvement in NationStates and your political experience (whatever you feel comfortable discussing). It's rare we have people with RL political experience involved in Osiris (but not unheard of by a long shot). Please take under advisement that real life politics differs considerably from NationStates politics.
I also want to say that longevity in the region is rarely a factor in what gets someone elected. It took nearly two years of constant service - with my WA included - before I was able to be elected Pharaoh, this was despite lengthy and almost unheard of tenure in Osiran Foreign Affairs. Of course, we also had a civil war, a dissolution of government, the collapse of all diplomatic credibility which I rebuilt solely using my own (and still patch up with), and some fantastic events that can only happen when two sides of a house starts pushing in opposite directions to allow the roof to cave in.
I am not a fan of compelling someone to do anything - compelling someone ordinarily requires the use of force or restriction of rights, privileges or access to certain essentials. I am therefore obligated as the person to whom most attribute Osiris' credibility and order to, to advise against any such action, least of all because it will cause significant issue with Osiris' foreign relations - our allies will not approve of such actions, and it will make military, diplomatic and cultural cooperation extraordinarily difficult between us and our sister Sinkers, or the Feeders.
Moving onto less gloomy parts of this:
How will you capture the hearts of the resident population? Think of the populace like the residents of a wartorn state. They are tired, weary and so utterly done with conflict. Osiris was a battleground for much of 2013, and there were outsider attempts in 2014 to destablise the fledgling government again. This has left them scarred, plus a lot of historical nations have vanished or gone dormant.
I apologise for how gloomy I am, I'm actually rather excited to see someone other than myself and a few battleworn veterans bring something new to the table. I look forward to the day I can retire and stop spending hours worrying about Osiris.

Thank you very much for your question. What makes this such a great experience for me is being able to learn some of the history of the region!
I have such a reverence for history, history is the thing that makes us, it defines us, it gives an answer to the questions: "what are we?" or "What do we stand for?" or "How strong is our resolve?".
We are a war-torn, tired, and a weary region. But we can't mistake that with cowardice or worry. I see this exhaustion, and I although it is a shame that corruption, and malice, and a complete lack of regard for democracy cascaded this region into a sea of confusion.
To answer your question on how to unite the people, we need to teach the history, increase participation on the forums, use propaganda (not in a bad way, of course). In order to unite, we all need to be involved, we all need to know the future that each individual here can have, but we also need to remember and learn from the rich history of our past.
The process of capturing someone's heart is not one based on facts, or of logic. I can't list facts on how to steal away someone's heart, or to capture their minds. One has to earn it, one has to be a friend, and to be an ally. One has to be trustworthy, to be known, to be compassionate. One has to be bold, but not bully. One has to kind but not weak.
Loyalty costs loyalty, and it costs respect. That is how I will captivate the region if given the chance, with a fair, and light hand. While deliberating to establish both sides to every argument.
Now to your other concerns, you wanted to hear more about my real world involvement;
I have served as state legislator in the House of Representatives (of my respective state -I am refraining from giving you the state because I feel that is an invasion of privacy, and does not affect how I will lead- , I did not serve in the United States House of Representatives), and I served their for two terms (four years total). I am now currently a Senator.
I wasn't citing my civil service in politics because this is a game based off of politics, I was citing that kind of experience because it means I know how to reach a compromise when so many of my colleagues cannot, I know how to chair committees as I am the Senate Chair of one of the committees in the State Legislature.
I know people are afraid of politicians, they lie, cheat, steal. But I am not that person, I believe in democracy, I believe in justice, I believe that bipartisanship is a force that inspires movement. That inspires change.
I wanted to take the time to thank you for uniting us, Josh, this region, as I am told, would not be what it is today had you not done the work that was necessary to repair it. So thank you for your service, I hope I am afforded the opportunity to do so as well.

Hi Amy and thanks for standing for the position.
I'm not sure if you've answered this already, but could you elaborate on your stated "years of experience on NationStates?"

Thank you for the question, it was a question I only touched upon briefly, so I do not blame you for asking:)
My nation The Republic of Vandtretta has been a nation for many years. I have been in the World Assembly pretty much since the beginning.
It wasn't my intention to mislead anyone by using the word experience, so allow me to touch upon it, I purely and simply meant I have had my nation for a long time, and throughout it have participated in WA affairs. Perhaps a better word would have been participation!
Again, thank you for the question Ivo!

I think Ivo was looking for specifics in regards to experience. Which regions? What positions have you had?
Right now, something I do not see in your answers is specifics. Citizens want to know exactly what they are getting out of a candidate and know that a candidate has specific goals in mind. So I would recommend incorporating more details.
I appreciate your answers. You said "obviously people who cannot logistically join the WA would not apply to the law." What would be considered as logistically unable to join the WA?

I have been in two regions; the first one I committed myself to was the region Lazarus, the second one was the Pacific. My citizenship since has been rescinded in both regions. I have been a devoted team-player in both regions. I left the regions because of each of their inabilities to provide for change in areas where they desperately needed it. I was tired of watching their legislatures grind to a halt, refusing to do anything. I was tired of the chief executive continuing to disregard their constitution. It was not an environment that was calm, and collected.
I am happy that you are appreciative of my answers, I try to include a variety of knowledge in all of them, I apologize for not being specific enough.
Membership to the World Assembly is very important to me, in the name of regional unity, and our preeminence in the world. Some of our citizens have more than one nation, if for those that do, that nation may already be a WA nation. Under a bill I hope to draft sometime during the next month, citizenship for people that applies to would be granted (under that proposal) given that all other qualifications were met. I would be open to suggestions regarding the drafting of this bill, and I have opened myself, and my personal e-mail up to questions about anything that I have said, or any other things I can do for the people as a councilor. Some people have taken advantage of that, and I am grateful for them for better enabling me to do my job.
But, I want to make up for my lack of specifics, so I will give you an outline of what I want to accomplish in order of priority.
1, and most important to me:
I will put a bill to vote that would open a session on the first Monday of every month. If I am elected as Keeper, I will take any proposals and write a formal agenda for the voting period. The proposals given to me will then be copied and pasted onto their own subpage. Where I would ask debate to occur. After three days of debate, voting will be opened up on another forum page, and the debates will be sealed for the public to view what was said. Voting will close three days after debate ended, so six days after the proposal reached the floor.
This new method is important to me because our current method, in my opinion is slightly disorganized, and confusing. This would alleviate the confusion, and make it easier for councilors to vote because they will know exactly where to look, and on what day to look (the first Monday of the month).
2. I will write a bill in regards to the creating of a new history page on the forum, where citizens who have been a member long enough to tell us all the story of how this region came to be, and the hardships that they went through.
This is important because as I've previously stated, history defines us, it makes us. If we are to inspire the people, they must know what we have done to defeat corruption, and villainy.
3. I will introduce my World Assembly bill, but only after I have discussed the language with Pharaoh, former Keepers, all councilors, and opened it up to forum discussion. If elected, I will wait about halfway through my term to put it on the floor, for the sole purposes of getting that opinion from others.
4. I think councilors need to really unite and work together. I can see from reading some of the threads that hostility often occurs. But this is not the behavior of a councilor, hostility, manipulation is not what I will expect from the councilors. We need to periodically keep in touch and develop a sense of community. If the Deshret is united, then theoretically, as representatives of the people, the region is united.
and 5. Increasing the knowledge of individual nation's rights. The more people are involved, the better. Through a series of propaganda articles, I know with a smile and firm handshake, we can increase forum participation, and get people to understand our laws, and how we develop them.
