Some ideas to start off the Ministry

I do apologize for being late, but I would like for this thread to be the place where we plan and discuss cultural projects for the region. Of course as you know, we are lucky to have the current Egyptian theme in our region. This opens up so many opportunities from themed projects to Role plays. However, it is important to start out slow with easy projects, because right now our ministry's executive staff is limited in number, and overtime we can get more people in and participating.

So here are some idea I had planned:

1.) Starting weekly or bi-weekly contests revolving around cultural aspects of the region. This could be something like regional meal, pet, color, etc. We could make an announcement about this in the RMB, but let nominations be held here only on the forum, which would attract more members to join our forums. The voting could be in the form of an in-game poll. What do you guys think of this?

2.) Starting a resident spotlight/featuring project. This would be a project where we interview a couple of nations from Osiris each week and publish these interviews here. It would help everyone get to know each other better, both the people on the forum and in-game on NS. How should we conduct these interviews? What questions should be asked?

3.) Regional Map. I haven't looked yet, but I do not think that Osiris has an active regional map at the moment. A map is very important if we want to attract role players to the region. Is anyone good at map making and cartography? Please post so in this thread, because your skills are greatly needed.

I know that this thread is not in the temple planning subforum. This is because I want see everyone's input on these topics, not just the Executive Staff.

1) I like that idea. Having polls on particular subjects surrounding our Egyptian theme would be good. I would say we try and stay away from political things and focus on cultural topic first then maybe explore political polls at another point in time. However, in regards to nominations, it would mean that someone would regularly have to inform the members of the in-game community of whats happening. I would be willing to do it, but perhaps Ainocra could do it as well seeing as how he is very active on the RMB.

2) I like it as well. We should probably do the interviews where the nation being interviewed is most comfortable perhaps either by Telegrams, IRC or the Forum. I think we should definitely ask questions about their history in the Game and them as an individual as well as their nations; asking what their political beliefs and ideologies are for example.

3) I am no good with Maps. But I do think we have one but just not in use. I think its this. Perhaps, we may need to bring someone in with that kind of experience, but I believe we may have someone. Back when the Houses Act (I think that was what it was called), someone did the map work. Perhaps they could help us out? if they are still here that is.

Yes, I do apologize for the delay.
So to start us off, I will go ahead and start nominations for best flag, if that’s alright with everyone. I can go ahead and announce that we will be holding a contest for the nation with the best flag and state that nominations have begun on the forum. We can let nominations last for 3 days, and then Tim can open up a regional poll with the candidates so the region can vote.

How does that sound for the regional contests?

And I am looking forward to interviewing with some natives on the weekend, so if you would like to do the same Andrew, just let me know which nations you are going to interview.

Of course, if anyone else would like to participate, please feel free to do so in anyway.

Thats sounds like a goo start for region contests. I will spread the news of the best flag nominations around the RMB and ask Tim if he could issue a regional wide telegram to inform the rest of the nations in Osiris.

I'll also get on with interviewing individuals

[class=members]Tim Stark[/class] waves.

If you check this thread, I'm currently hunting for a Culture Scribe.

Hopefully I can get one! If I don't get one after a week or two, I'll drink a few bottles and try this myself. But yes, there are plans!
