Issue II
29/12/2014 Election Time!
Pharaoh Election Debating Chamber
It's Election Time in Osiris! After the recent conclusion of the Keeper Elections, which saw Ainocra winning a landslide majority, the Pharaoh Elections started only hours later. Candidates currently standing are Councilor Abacathea, Scribe of Media Andrew, Deshret Councilor Ridersyl, Deshret Councilor Tim Stark, and Scribe of War Vaculatestar.

Abacathea was the first to put forward his campaign, which can be found here, doing so before the beginning of the Pharaoh Elections saying "The early bird gets the worm". Given his field of expertise, most thought that he was the most likely candidate to win the Election but within a few hours of the election officially opening, Tim, Ridersyl, Andrew and Vaculatestar presented their platforms which have all been described as strong, and detailed campaigns with a clear agenda.
The Candidates:

Abacathea's platform focuses on his Foreign and Military Agenda. His Foreign agenda campaigns his intention to re-open diplomatic relations and the beginning of new relations while attempting to repair Osiris's broken relations with with other regions. His Military Agenda focuses on the rebuild of Osiris's Military, the Sekhmet Legion, into one of the strongest military's seen to date and stating he may introduce minor changes in order to facilitate this goal, stating - "I believe it is time the legion lived up to its heritage. "

Tim Stark's platform, which can be found here , largely focuses on the issues currently facing Osiris. His campaign states that Osiris needs to focus on reconciling with it's differences and making it clear to regions, that the Fraternal Order is not another regime that "will die into the stagnancy that saw the KRO be removed from power". His campaign primarily focuses on internal affairs and the rebirth of Osiris's in-game and offsite forum activity; saying that Osiris' unique Ancient Egyptian Theme gives Administrations enough to work with in Culture. He also explains his ambition to start communicating with newly refounded nations, and convincing them to stay and become a part of the Osiran Community, as a part of his domestic policy.
Tim's military agenda outlines an "Osiris for Osiris Policy", stating his firm belief in R/D Independence for Game Created Regions and explaining that under his leadership, the Osiris Military shall actively in operations within Osiris's interests. He also outlines his goal for the Sekhmet Legion to not just partake in tag raids or just assist its allies, but independently holding its own regions: saying it would be an opportune chance to show of Osiris's capabilities and strong military.
Lastly, Tim's platform illustrates Osiris's low Delegacy endorsement count in comparison to other Sinker Regions. He expresses his wish to work with Osirans, asking them to maintain their WA's within the region and actively working on having WA's continually endorse the Delegate and the Guardians.

Ridersyl begins his platform, which can be found here, talking about his experiences in military gameplay; saying through time partaking in military organisations, he has earned respect from not only his comrades-in-arms but those who oppose him. His platform does not focus on specific policy topics, but more of the general well-being of Osiris; promising to work tirelessly to advance Osiris in all possible areas and to further work with with individuals from the members of his Cabinet to the least active citizens to form Osiris into the blossoming flower it was intended to be. He further went on to say that he will encourage others to work towards this common goal, and set up a structured environment so that the Osiris Fraternal Order can function with the greatest efficiency to achieve this goal.

Vaculatestar begins his platform, which can be found here, by addressing activity concerns, given his slight inactivity in his capacity as Scribe of War. He then follows by addressing his plans for the region should he get elected, which largely focus on Foreign Affairs, Culture, and Military.
Vac's Foreign Agenda focusess on re-conciliating and rebuilding relations, with regions, that were damaged or destroyed during the war. He further outlines his agenda by stating that he will be giving special attention to Ainur, Spiritus, and some of the Pacific's.
His Agenda on Culture address's his intent to organize and arrange regional festivals stating that - "With the rebuilding of relations comes a need for Culture". His platform outlines he would like such celebrations to take place during Holidays that his term would run across, such as Valentines Day. He also promises to promote active spam games and reawaken roleplays within Osiris.
His Military agenda outlines the use of Osiris's military to further promote its foreign policy. He states his intent on rebuilding the Legion and forming it, into a formidable force within the game. He lastly talks about his desire to organize raids, turning the Legion into a brand name as recognizable as TBR or UIAF.

Andrew's platform, which can be found here, focuses on issues currently facing Osiris, with policy areas such as Foreign Affairs, Military, Culture, Integration and overall activity being included in his platform. Andrew begins his campaign talking about the low activity of Osiris and its troubling fall into decline. He also addresses criticism that the Joshua Administration has received about being the cause of Osiris' decline but instead saying - " it is not the sole responsibility of the Executive but a team effort of the entire Region to keep itself active. ". He references Balder, saying that it has also experienced a period of inactivity but states thanks to the "mother-like persistence of Queen Rach", Balder has been able to see a rise in it's overall regional activity. Andrew also address's the lack of communication between past Osiran Administrations and it's in-game community and further promises he intends to use Osiris's Sinker status to its advantage by integrating new nations into the community, through a new Ministry. His Foreign Agenda, like other candidates, focuses on reconciling and rebuilding relations, with regions, that were damaged during the war and working with a diversity of regions in order to create a foundation for more chances for friendly interregional relationships. He specifically mentions "extending the hand of friendship to Lazarus, The South Pacific, The West Pacific and other regions" in an attempt to build a foundation which future relations can be built upon. In his Military Agenda, he intends to rebuild and sustain the Sekhmet Legion from it's "hibernation"; re-assessing its values and structure while molding it to one of the major military powers in the game. He outlines his plan to do this by implementing the appropriate policies to prevent the Legion from returning to its decline, and balancing the operation and training necessities of the Legion to assist with Osiris's overall domestic and foreign policy.

He moves on to his Cultural Platform, expressing his support of focusing on small, yet growing role-plays within the region further saying that - "cultural activities should focus on starting out small, reasoned OOC projects and building its way up from there. Gaining a stable foundation of guidelines and members that participate, then endeavoring to further advance in size". From there, he states that is the Administration's duty to help in its promotion within the Region. Andrew lastly express's his support for several initiative's campaigned during Cormac Platform in his run for Keeper of the Deshret. His platform states his intend to assist the Deshret, in re-examining both existent legislation as well as Osiris's judicial system, due to the lack of crime in Osiris, finding and implementing any areas of change or improvement, within Osiris's interests.

At the beginning it seemed as though Abacathea was the likely victor, but after seeing the platforms of the other candidates, the end of the election road became less predictable. Osiris Oracle shall continually provide you coverage of this Election, as things continue to unravel :)

Actually yes, I was kinda paranoid 'bout that, making sure no one that that i was using this to my advantage. I just got what I could use from peoples platforms while trying to mention every topic but only including the important bits. I'll try to shorten mine :P

As I'm running in the election, anything I say regarding content is obviously biased even if I don't want it to be so I'll abstain from then. However, I do have typos!
The Beginning wrote:Currently Standing is Former North Pacifican Vice Delegate Abacathea , Scribe of Media Andrew, Scribe of War Vaculatestar, as well as Deshret Councillors Ridersyl and Tim Stark.
It seems like it might be better worded as: "Candidates currently standing are Former Vice-Delegate of the North Pacific Abacathea, Scribe of Media Andrew, Deshret Councilor Ridersyl, Deshret Councilor Tim Stark, and Scribe of War Vaculatestar.

Reasoning: It fixed the spelling of Councilor, which only has one L. Besides that, it seems that this is the best way to objectively frame the field as it lists us in Alphabetic Order with our positions provided for each person. It also avoids the danger of people thinking Syl and I are a joint ticket. Really I'm probably shooting myself in the foot with this one as I'd love to be the very last name mentioned; best way to stick in memory ;)
but after several hours prior to presenting his platform
So we presented hour platforms several hours before him? :P
Perhaps reword that to "but within a few hours of the election officially opening". If you want to alphabetize names there as well, go for it.
Also, a comma between "platforms" and "which"
focus's
focuses*
This is a few times through, just ctrl-f for them I guess?

There's a lot of awkward apostrophe uses, actually, but whatever. "give's" is another one.

Finally, just a quick clarification on one thing in the summary of my platform; my R/D independence stance is really only applicable to GCRs so if you could re-word it from " stating his firm belief in R/D Independence Stance " to "stating his firm belief in R/D Independence for Game Created Regions". A bit pedantic as well, but my view is much less of an "actively raid and actively defend" but more of just active participation for whatever's beneficial for us. Trust me, I have no intent on having the Sekhmet Legion putting anywhere close to as much time Defending as they will be Raiding, that's silly and goes against our current theme and founding principles. It's more just an establishment that the option is there, so like if EPSA wants us to liberate against some noobs with them to show GCR Military Prowess, hell yeah we'll work with EPSA to show off GCR Military Prowess, etc.
*throws up a flag to UDL to inform them not to ask us to join each of their libs :P*

Anyways, the newsletter is awesome! I hope I didn't come off as critical, I really like it!

I'm not surprised the writer's own candidacy is the most detailed in the article, considering it's the candidacy he knows best. :P I don't have any problem with that.

I also approve of the summary of my platform. Well done. ^_^

Once you put in Tim's grammatical and spelling edits (Councilor, focuses, etc), I support moving this to publish.

The reason I posted it here was to receive the opinions of Osiran first, so I greatly appreciate your editions and will gladly include them :) . But regarding the comma's, don't judge, it took time to write two articles and my campaign in just a few days :P I forgot a few grammar rules.

But anyways, you edits have been made. if there is anything you or anyone else isn't pleased with, please say so. Your input is valuable to me this Newspaper :P

If any candidate doesn't like how I have written it, very well, I will rewrite it according to how they wish (as long as its practical and not used to any advantage :) and reasonable notice given to myself on their disliking)
