I would like to Amend this section
1. Any Councilor of the Deshret may introduce a proposal before the Deshret. A proposal will go to vote only after a mandatory consideration period of three days, which may be extended to seven days at the discretion of the Keeper. A proposal will then proceed to vote after a motion to vote on the proposal has been made by any Councilor and seconded by any two additional Councilors.

(a) The Keeper may at his discretion delay a vote for up to seven days if two or more proposals are already at vote.

And I would like to add a section

Section 4 Amendment of these procedures
Procedural votes on these rules may be called by the Keeper or the Curator at any time.

All in all just a couple of quality of life fixes designed to give the keeper a little flexibility in managing the chamber.

opinions?

Also if anyone else has an amendment to the procedures feel free to throw it in here perhaps we can get them all done in one swell foop

If I may ask, why do you see this amendment as necessary?

basic quality of life, this would make scheduling a bit easier and allow for the procedures to be changed a bit easier. Should make for a smoother workflow in the chamber going forward.

What does the Section 4 Amendment achieve?

it would allow the keeper or the curator call for a vote on these rules without requiring a pair of seconds. anyone else could still call for a change but would have to take the normal approach.
but it would only let them do so for these procedural rules.

I don't see the need for the Section 4 amendment. The Keeper and Curator aren't supposed to be "above" the other Councilors in any way, shape, or form. They are simply elected by their fellow councilors to do what I found in my two terms to be an incredibly thankless job that requires long hours counting votes and updating lists. This amendment however seems to do just that, by giving the Keeper and Curator, who is the Keepers assistant, the ability to go past the normal procedure for calling for a vote, even if it's only for these rules being changed.

I don't see much of a change, if any, in the rest of it. :P

I was thinking it would give future keepers and their staff a way to review and update the procedures fairly easily so as not to hold the chamber up overlong for it. I don't envision it being used very often.

To be honest, I see two sides to this.
On one side, I do see the responsibilities of the Keeper and his staff and so I think that they should at least be given the privilege to speed up votes without having to wait for motions. However, I can also see the Keeper (not you) abusing this by delaying certain legislation for whatever purpose they have in mind.

So therefore, I believe that the current rules are fine for now.

While I will admit that crossed my mind, I can't see how a week will really harm or help one way or another. I had it in mind as a remedy for the situation we were faced with last night. Legally I was obligated to begin an election almost as soon as my own was concluded. This would also serve to give them flexibility around that life thing I keep hearing about

Also given that several people have called for a review of the rules recently I thought this would be a decent way to ensure a fairly regular review of them going forward.
