Recognizing a Legacy of Service

Honors for the Festival of Osiris - 04 August 2014

We celebrate the Festival of Osiris to remember the contributions made by veteran members of the Osiran community. It gives me great pleasure today to present the following awards for such contributions. Actual medals for the honors established by the Osiran Holidays and Honors Act are still under development.

First, I am awarding the Crown of Osiris to three of my predecessors -- Venico BrightAxe, Ambroscus Koth, and Joshua Ravenclaw -- to whom it very likely already would have been awarded had the honor existed when they were presented other honors. All of these individuals have served with distinction as Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order. Without the contributions made by Venico and Koth, the Osiris Fraternal Order would not exist today. Meanwhile, Lord Ravenclaw established the strongest possible foundation for the Osiris Fraternal Order's foreign affairs and demonstrated to the world that this government and community were here to stay. There is no question that all three are more than deserving of this award.

I would also like to make special note of my other two predecessors as Pharaoh of Osiris.

Joshua Bluteisen served very briefly as Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order, for just seven days following the resignation of Joshua Ravenclaw from office. Nonetheless, his brief service was distinguished by how he chose to use his time. He chose for his only act as Pharaoh to honor service to the Osiris Fraternal Order, and in so doing he did more than anyone realized to heal a rift that had been caused by our flawed challenge election system. In serving briefly as Pharaoh, he also ensured the security and stability of the Osiris Fraternal Order, and in choosing to unexpectedly run for Pharaoh he gave us a contested and competitive election to uphold our still young democratic tradition. For the contributions he made as Pharaoh, and for prior contributions in the Sekhmet Legion, on the Atef, and as Vizier, Joshua Bluteisen is awarded the Scale of Ma'at and the Seal of Vigilance, the Pharaonic honor that was his creation.

Severisen Montresor also served with distinction as Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order. During his term, we saw ratification of the Treaty of the Old Gods and establishment of the Imperial Sovereign Realms Army, as well as the Treaty of Alexandria with Europeia, both of which had begun under his predecessor, Joshua Ravenlaw, but were finalized and implemented by Sev. We also saw ratification of a treaty with The East Pacific and a non-aggression pact with The Rejected Realms, moving relations between the Osiris Fraternal Order and other Feeders and Sinkers decisively forward. For his remarkable contributions to foreign affairs as Pharaoh, Severisen Montresor is awarded the Eye of Horus.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the contributions of someone who served as Pharaoh of Osiris long before the Osiris Fraternal Order could ever have been conceived as a possibility in anyone's mind -- indeed, even before the Kemetic Republic of Osiris was established. For his service as the first Pharaoh of Osiris, Zaolat was awarded the Vigilant of Horus on 23 July 2012 by Pharaoh Lyanna Stark. Following a regrettable incident in July 2013, the Vigilant of Horus was rescinded by me during my first term as Pharaoh of Osiris on 17 July 2013 because it granted automatic citizenship in the Kemetic Republic of Osiris at a time when that was not desirable.

In renewed recognition of Zaolat's service to Osiris as her first Pharaoh, her first forum root administrator, and on her first security council, the Council of Ma'at, and knowing how much the Vigilant of Horus means to him, the Vigilant of Horus is restored to Zaolat and is retired from further use, as it was an honor of the Kemetic Republic of Osiris.

I hope you will join me in honoring these veteran members of the Osiran community, who have done so much to make Osiris the strong, stable, and vibrant region we have all come to call home. Congratulations to the recipients of these honors and I hope they and all citizens of the Osiris Fraternal Order will continue to enjoy the Festival of Osiris.
