Admin Removals

In consultation with Koth, the root administrator, Todd McCloud and North East Somerset have been removed from the administrative team. This removal was undertaken because of the feeling over the past several months that we have more administrators than are necessary to administer this forum, and because Todd and NES were the least active administrators. Todd has zero actions logged in the Admin Log and NES has only five, though both have been admins for the bulk of this forum's existence.

Todd and NES were both initially brought onto the administrative team to perform security checks for citizenship applicants, but neither have performed this function for some time.

Naturally, we don't fault them for the lack of activity. There simply isn't enough workload to go around to this many admins, which is rather the point. We thank them for their prior service.

I should note that this decision is in no way politically motivated, despite the highly politicized atmosphere of recent days, and that this decision was ultimately made by the root administrator after several months of on and off discussion in regard to the size of the admin team.

Can confirm that this was pretty much all me. Administrator is not an honorary title.

Good shit. 7 admins (I think that's what it was) is way too much for any forum. Let alone ours. Hell I think I have more admin actions logged than them and I was a basically inactive admin for 2-3 months.

The weird thing about this is that Osiris' admins have performed 418 more tasks than Balder's admins have despite Balder's forums being around much longer. For the record, Balder's admins have perform 3,287 tasks compares to the 3,705 tasks listed here by Osiris' admins. How does that work?

I think the main culprit would be the House system that required so much tweaking and changes.

That and the extensive work we've done with our forum themes, including the custom skin that r3n created for us. Those make up a lot of r3n's admin actions, as he did many edits to the CSS of both Ledger and Osiris Purple. He also uploaded all externally hosted images to our server, etc.

I'd also like to say that this came along with an Op clean up in #osi. Spring cleaning and all that jazz.

I was mostly kept along for continuity with the old forum and with helping security checks. While I didn't do anything forum-side (sorta came along when the forums were mostly built), I'm pretty sure others can vouch that I did do stuff behind the scenes. So that goose-egg has a Barry Bonds'-sized asterisk by it, lol.

That all being said, I was kinda thinking about doing this. I did it in TSP, and with work getting crazy and the fact that you guys seem to have everything under control, there's really no need for me to do administrative work here. As someone said here, it's not a title in the least. It's actually not a very desirable position, especially considering the history of this region, lol. But everyone else is doing a fine job and when that's the case, having too many cooks in the kitchen is a bad thing.
