Challenge for the Delegacy
Lord Ravenclaw & George Holland

Greetings Osiris,

The last few months have been very interesting to watch; both from within the region and from an outsider perspective (so I’ve been told). What strikes me most looking at the Osiris that now exists as the Fraternal Order, is how calm things are. There is a calmness in our region that I have not seen in a very long time, and it has reinforced my hope that we can move forward from the dark times of the Empire controlled region we’ve known in the past.

With thanks to Venico, Koth and Cormac, we are now free of the influence of certain members of Empire, and for perhaps the first time ever in the history of Osiris, their members will have no bearing or access to the election for Pharaoh. For the first time, we can vote freely without their subtle yet cunning manipulations or tactics. For now, we are truly free of their influence and have started anew.

From that dark night came a new dawn - and that dawn has blossomed a new Osiris. An Osiris which welcomes people of all creeds, who treats them openly and embodies a region which does not turn people away because of past events, but judges them fairly on their merits and responses.

We are now at the point where we can work under a peacetime Pharaoh, to finally grant the Triumvirate the release that they’ve been seeking for the last month. At the suggestion of Cormac, I have decided to challenge Venico and Koth for the Pharaohship and Delegacy of Osiris in order to give them their freedom back… although there will be dozens of people outside of Osiris who will hate me should I succeed, I think they’ve earned a rest. Don’t you?

I believe that our focus now can turn to keeping our foundations strong, focusing on what makes Osiris great, and refining it even further. We have the makings of a great region, and are considerably more stable now than we were six months ago.

Both George and I have served Osiris for a very long time, through good and bad. We also have the same injuries from when Empire loyalists burnt down the Temple of Anubis in Alexandria to prevent me and him from rallying our fellow feeders and sinkers to our cause. He was there when we fought their soldiers in defence of the Temple, and helped me relocate our precious papyrus scrolls away from Empire’s torches of fire.

Before that, George was Pharaoh, and I his Vizier of Foreign Affairs through his reign, at a time where I was rebuilding and recreating the Foreign Affairs department to become a strong institution of old-Osiris, and it was the strength and friendships we built there that have served Osiris so well over the last few months.

George hasn’t just been Pharaoh of Osiris, he was the founder of the Medjai Guard, a Priest of the Council of Ma’at, Spokesperson of the Sepatarchy, and so many other things inside old-Osiris. He, like myself, has given hour after hour to working for the region, despite the various obstacles put up by those who sought harm to our region.

He’s here, as well. Despite his earlier attempt to hide in plain sight as Totally Not Georgie, he stands behind me, ready to serve as my Vizier and Vice-Delegate and ready to allow his Husband and friends to regain their freedom and return to the greater NationStates world and release their pent up… frustration upon the world.

At this point, I ask for your support and your trust. I would like to guide Osiris as its first Peacetime Pharaoh for the new order, the Fraternal Order and continue serving this region in the best way I know how and have done so for the last… 21 months. The road ahead is not paved, but we will be able to navigate it as long as we work together,

Our foundation is strong, our community united and we have the legitimacy of both international recognition and the rule of law. The shadows that haunted the region are gone and we have remade Osiris anew.

Now is the time to further that, to take Osiris to new heights, above and beyond anything we have seen in our history. Now is the time for big thinking and ambitious plans.

Now is the time of Osiris.

[big][b][color=darkred]To save you all the tedium of having to read five hundred words on plans, we would like to invite you to post us questions instead. Although the Vizier will not be mentioned on the Ballot, I believe it is important for Osiris to know who it is I've chosen to work with and who I plan to name the Vizier and Vice-Delegate of Osiris if elected. As at the end of it all, if I'm elected, it won't just be me governing Osiris, my Vizier, George Holland, will be working with me and that is something we need to remember.[/color][/b][/big]

Question 1:
Will Osiris continue its wonderful friendship and cooperation with its current allies who helped secure its delegacy, and if yes, to what extent? (As it is the Pharaoh is in control of the army). I already know the answer, but since its the most important I'll ask it anyway and will continue to ask it to every challenger.

Question 2: What's your favorite dessert?

Will you install a theocratic monarchy in Osiris centered around the worship of Rosie?

Thank you for your question General.

I most certainly hope so. I'm very happy at our current friendship and cooperation with our various allies, such as The Black Riders, The Black Hawks and the UIAF (plus others) since our new order was established and have no wish to see it stop or diminish over the next few months. I'm also exceedingly grateful for the support they have given us over the last month and a half, this would not be possible without them and the help that they've given Osiris will not be forgotten. Hopefully we'll be able to see even more outings to various regions with the Sekhmet once Venico, Koth and Cormac are WA Mobile, adding more skilled commanders to Gameplay... that and I'm going to enjoy seeing the results.

My favourite desert? Damn, you have to ask the hardest question I've ever seen, don't you? Wow. Hmm, Chocolate Fudge Cake or Apple Crumble. I can't decide.

Hmm, that would distract her from her most important duties of lying about and meowing at us, so I'm afraid not. I'd rather she didn't get bored of me and try to take over NationStates.

If elected, do you have any plans on who you would nominate as Elders of the Pschent?

Also, from the State Code:
2. The Pschent will have the power to make and revise its own procedural rules.
Would you view this as standing in the way of the Priesthood of Seshat moving forward with drafting the Court Procedure as Pharaoh Venico tasked us to do as long as the Pschent has sole authority over any future amendments to said Procedure?

I would first inquire on who would hold an interest in such a role, and the I'd inquire on their judicial experience - for some who are interested in understanding the nuances of how an NationStates courtroom works, it would be a good starting point.

I would also be happy to take suggestions from the Hedjet or Deshret as long as the nominees do not have any conflicts of interest relating to any trials or cases currently being heard.

Until there is a Pschent named, then no. Past that point, I would hope that the Elders of the Pschent and the Priests of Seshat work together in creating a legal code for Osiris.

Whilst the State Code says that they will have sole power, there is currently no Pschent. If necessary, I will hold off appointing anyone until the Seshat has finished with the Legal Code for the Deshret.

Just for clarification, I will not be bringing any cases to trial without a Pschent to hear it. :P

Then I don't believe we have any problems ;)
