Okay. Your nominee for Scribe of Justice is a felon. Discuss!
Only one person in my proposed Hedjet was convicted of a High Crime, and that was you.

You chose to not serve in my Hedjet, so there are currently no felons or individuals convicted of any crimes in my proposed Hedjet.

You're right, I was convicted of a high crime after pleading guilty to it, and I served the bulk of a more than one year sentence for it before being pardoned.

You know, I could give this the answer it honestly deserves, and go file the charges against him. But I'm not going to, because this has to stop sometime with someone, and I honestly don't want to see Festavo banned for doing a stupid thing once a few months ago. Neither did forum administration, by the way, which is why they never filed charges and instead handled it with official warnings.

What I also don't want to see is you continuing to pretend this doesn't matter in a Scribe of Justice nominee. Festavo knows what he did and isn't denying it, so let's drop the "alleged" stuff and be real for a minute. Do you honestly believe that someone who improperly jacked up someone's forum account over a Skype dispute is right for this position?

I'm very grateful that you chose not to play politics with the justice system.

That being said, a drunken mistake Festavo made then does not negate the service that he's done elsewhere and what he can do in the future.

He's the right guy for the job and I know he'll execute it to the best of his abilities. He and I have already discussed the mock trials in relative depth and I am very confident he will be an excellent Scribe of Justice.

I am sorry that your mind won't be changed because of principle, but if others feel the same as you as you have stated, then it is their right to vote nay.

Continuing to drag Fest through the mud when your mind has already been made up and injecting personal attacks is not welcome here Cormac, and since you plan to vote nay on the entirety of my nominees, I ask that you cease posting here.

If injecting personal attacks isn't welcome here, why did you just do it in your previous post?

I've said all I have to say about Festavo's improper moderation actions in January. I will not, however, commit to not posting here anymore. I'm a Councilor of the Deshret and regardless of how I intend to vote on your nominees, I have a right to post here. If I have something to say here, I will say it. You don't get to decide which Councilors can comment on your nominations. This is a confirmation discussion, not a rubber stamp.

Obviously my idea of a personal attack is not the same as yours.

It is a discussion, not a place to attack people who voted for me.

Indeed. Your idea of a personal attack appears to be that anything I say is one, and anything you say isn't. I talk about Festavo's actions in January and it's a personal attack. You drag my conviction of a high crime into it and that isn't a personal attack.

I'm not attacking "people who voted for you," I'm questioning your cabinet nominees, and this one in particular. It's not my fault, nor my problem, that so many of your nominees are people who voted for you.

Calling Tomb, Revall, and Shad my attack dogs, isn't attacking them?

Regardless of what we think personal attacks are, let's stop with them and all be nice.

Let's take a look at what happened. I had a very stressful day. Some shit was happening. I got a little intoxicated admittedly. Ivo then proceeded to really piss me off so I went ahead and warned him, barred him from posting for 8 hours, deleted his avatar and changed some of his profile things. Cosmetic stuff. I had a lapse of judgement in my impaired state and thought it was a way to release some frustration and pull a prank at the same time. I should not have done it of course. I apologize for my actions and at no other time in any region have I abused any administrative or moderator powers. I am a moderator in Grand Central right now and there has been absolutely no issues whatsoever.

I would like to address the fact that charges could be brought against me right now. This is true. There is a 6 month statute of limitations and I am 3 months into it. During those three months nobody has filed charges against me. Ivo did not. He is the victim in this case and he did not see this as serious enough to warrant filing charges so I do not see why anybody else should. I had a bad lapse of judgement and learned a lesson that day. Life is one big journey with many twists and turns and you have to learn some things along the way. I learned not to get intoxicated and use moderator powers. I would also like to point out that I rarely ever get intoxicated and have not since. I don't like to impair my judgement and that day I just had a lot to deal with. I apologize again and I hope you all understand.

I would like to address some concerns about my temper. I had a notorious temper in the past, but it has gotten considerably better as many can attest. There have been some times where I would have lost my temper recently and I have not. I have remained calm. Some may say that I was hard on people like Tim, Sev or Jakker when I was asking them questions recently, but I would like to point out that the Scribe of Justice is responsible for prosecuting cases in front of the court. We need somebody who will ask direct and tough questions. I will do that if a case were to arise. I ask that you give me a chance to be Scribe of Justice and show you what I can do. I made a mistake 3 months ago and I had a hot temper a while ago. Times change. It is about who you are now that matters.

I would like to ask you all to vote Aye on my nomination. I served as Scribe of War for a total of 10 months and, while I was not the best Scribe I could have been, I am told my others that I did a good job. The accomplishments of a man are best judged by others and not himself so my opinion on my time as Scribe or Pharaoh is irrelevant. I will always believe that I could have done a better job at any position I hold. That is just who I am. Give me the chance to show that I can do a good job as Scribe of Justice. If anybody has any more questions, ask away.

Speaking as Keeper, I would ask councillors to please approach this and all conversations in a civil manner. This behavior is a poor representation of the Deshret and I truly believe it is possible to disagree with each other respectfully.
