As a note, now that I wouldn't be doing it under duress from an obstructionist minority who refused to participate in this convention during its first two weeks, I am more than willing to continue discussing, listening to concerns, and considering changes. Since we have to have another week of discussion anyway, we might as well make some productive use of it. So if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free.

I am extremely concerned about III. 3. I have seen in other GCRs how perpetual appointments lead to extreme stagnation and the obfuscation of progress for a region. Osiris is prone to these issues already.

I feel that there should be a different method of guardian selection. Perhaps for every Pharaoh the Scribes vote three people in. I'm not sure. But I implore Osiris to reconsider this section of the proposal.

Can you explain to the class why you decided to wait until the last few hours of the second discussion period to raise these concerns?

To address your concerns: These are not "perpetual appointments." The Pharaoh can dismiss these Guardians as long as the Council of Scribes approves their dismissal. The reason for this is to provide some check on the power of the Pharaoh, and without this provision there will be no check on the Pharaoh's power at all. None. Is that what you're aiming for? Because I would like the people who are continually attempting to derail this convention to actually be open and up front about what their agenda is so we can actually discuss it and work something out, instead of going through this at the last minute every time we're supposed to be wrapping up this convention. We've been a month without functional government. How much longer do you want to go?

If the discussion period ends tonight, I certify this as complete.

If the discussion period doesn't end tonight, please feel free to continue discussing.
