Entirely agree. It feels like Osiris is not taking itself seriously. If this is the path we decide to continue to walk, we'll get nowhere fast. There's nothing wrong with having a little fun, as I'm sure Kowa intended with that appointment, but we have a lot of work that needs to be done here and it's going to take serious mindsets to make it happen. Government is a ton of behind the scenes work and frustration, even if it is good times and smiles in the open. I hope that this government is willing and able to put in all that work. We can have faith, at least, that Mghnb will get some stuff done in the military. We'll see what happens with the rest.

I see everyone's concern and confusion and I will be fixing this tonight. The appoints were the result of a lot of different discussions with different people. I am going to fix this and make it right by you.

I would defend Kowa's deciding to make this appointment by pointing out our former Vizier of Johnny Cash Affairs - which I know Adytus started and Sygian carried on. I closed the position in my tenure as CV because I thought it was a little silly, but you can hardly call Kowa's term a "joke" over a Viziership that is very similar to one you not only approved of in Adytus' term, but upheld in your own, Syg.

In any case, I see a Vizier of Memes as just as silly as the Johnny Cash appointment was. The Johnny Cash Vizier, at least, had some secretarial duties, according to Ady. I'm not sure what the guy in charge of memes would be charged with doing. And while we're talking about it, why is Rallori both a Vizier and a Sub-Vizier? What is a Vizier of Discussion supposed to be doing? Why did we trust a nation who popped up out of nowhere and none of us knows with our government, even if just on the RMB? I have a great many concerns about this cabinet - all respect to Kowassati and the people he's chosen - and a Vizier of Memes is honestly the least of them.

Well you're just wrong. I am not sure what exactly the Sub-Vizier of Johnny Cash Affairs was in charge of during Adytus' tenure, and I am sure that there was some sort of job, but during my term the Sub-Vizier was created with a name as such (to promote the Johnny Cash culture that was apparently popular in the region) while simultaneously replacing the formerly used "Sub-Vizier of Gameside Affairs." I charged Dr_Pellican with creating gameside cultural activities and bringing people from the site over onto the forums. Although, I am sure you didn't know that, because I don't think you were even an active citizen here at the time, because it was just after an election period.

Finally, during Adytus' tenure as Chief Vizier, he created the Sub-Vizier of Johnny Cash Affairs potition. Initially, it didn't have much of an outline of what it was supposed to do, but I have decided to combine both gameside affairs and forum affairs into this one position.

Straight from my cabinet appointment list where I thoroughly explained my cabinet, the nominees, the positions, and why I thought my nominees were qualified to serve on my cabinet - and I believed that to be a good precedent to start. Sadly, it hasn't been continued.

My concern is not just "what the hell are the duties of the Vizier of Memes?" It is "why the hell are we appointing someone who has not been an active citizen for long enough to be given access to the highest security channels and levels of our damn government?"

This is not just directed toward Seahasse, but it's also directed toward Tawks, Rallori (who holds two cabinet positions for some reason), and Tiber Septim.

My next concern is our foreign affairs. I do trust Adytus to put in as much work as he can, but I don't think there is much qualification for both of those Vizier positions (Foreign Affairs and WA Affairs). I'm not sure what type of Foreign Affairs experience Adytus has, and our Foreign Affairs has been lacking a ton since I was Chief Vizier. I appointed myself initially because I did not believe anyone to be qualified as such for it, and I appointed Kowassati as my Sub-Vizier so I could work with him and teach him what I know. This was, of course, before he fell inactive and failed to carry out such duties.

My final concern is that several nominees have expressed that they had no clue of the fact that they were going to - or had been - nominated to serve on the cabinet. I believe this is breaking a very important common sense precedent of asking your choice of a nominee before you appoint them.

I came to this region at the end of July. At that time there were positions filled in the government and I felt I was to new then to ask for a post in government.

Since this most recent election I have applied for a FA position and after sending a PM I was told I was accepted. However I haven't been given an actual position in FA.
I figured that since I wanted to get some experience I would ask to be given another position.
I requested to be given a junior post in regards to Community/Internal Affairs or that general area. I explained to the CV how long I had been in the region and so on. He then appointed me to the current nomination.

I guess I am not sure what you mean by the "highest security levels" in my case.
I figured someone who is only a Sub Vizier would only be Privy to department level areas and not some state secret.

I requested the area that I did because I knew that I probably had the basic aptitude and because I know I don't have specialized knowledge like some of the other departments might require.
I simply wanted to gain some more " hands on" experience instead of just simply voting on a bill or being appointed to a department where I ultimately had no role for whatever reason.

While I can't speak for the situation of the other nominees I think it's only fair to state that the CV, in my case, thought he was doing the right thing given my situation and because of my enthusiasm. This wasn't done, in my case , as a joke.

The CV and I had a conversation about this before nominating me.

Since being nominated I have come up with a couple of ideas that are related to Community Affairs and the RMB. Nothing ingenious, but certainly enough to make people realize that I'm not going to be some empty husk on the job.

I hope that adds some clarification at least since you mentioned my name.
