Thanks. One of your supporters said, and I'm paraphrasing, that you are the only candidate with an actual plan for unity, and that it's one thing to preach unity and another to offer a plan for it. But in fact I did offer plans for it, chief among them a unity government with most, if not all of the other candidates in both rounds of this election included in my Hedjet.

So two follow-up questions, then:

1. Do you agree with your supporter that you are the only candidate with a unity plan and that other candidates are just preaching unity with no plan?

2. What are your thoughts on a unity government? Will you be making room for other candidates in your Hedjet, to try to heal the wounds this campaign inflicted, or will those positions be for your supporters?

Thanks again, and good luck with your campaign.

No, I believe that each candidate has their own well thought out plans on how to restore trust and continue building the bonds of our community. However, everyone interprets things differently and someone else might think that I'm offering empty promises, and you've laid out detailed policy positions on how to rebuilt.

Worked for Churchill and Lloyd George, but they both got bitten later on :P.

As I said to a candidate who asked once, the mere participating in this election should not be an automatic placement in the Hedjet. My Hedjet will be composed of individuals who I believe will do the best in their positions and people who I can work with efficiently and positively with.

Who someone supported in the election should be completely irrelevant in the selection of the Hedjet, and I don't plan to look at who they voted for before approaching them.

Late-night typing is not my best typing. What I meant was he offered more viable solutions (in my opinion) in his platform. I am in no way insinuating you don't have an admirable plan in the works if elected.

Fair enough.

I do wonder though, how many of the people endorsing you did you approach for Hedjet positions before they endorsed you? According to Raven, you had asked Shadoke (Benjamin Ravenclaw for anyone who doesn't know they're the same person) to serve as your Vizier in the previous round of voting. I'm sure this isn't intentional on your part, but I have to wonder how many people are endorsing you because they think they might be getting positions if you're elected, contrasted with me not approaching anyone yet to avoid the appearance of improper political patronage, and my plans to include other candidates in my Hedjet may rule out positions for folks like Shadoke.

For the record, I supported Jesus Whale in the first round of this election before he offered me Vizier (which I declined BTW).

Shad is running for Delegate of Alexandria, and I made a comment about how I trusted him and could count on him to be an active Vizier, and that he would do excellent in the job. But since he's running for that already, he can not.

I would love to have him as my Vizier, but it's not possible.

I'm not trading Hedjet spots for support, if that's what you're implying.

Trading spots for support kind of negates the 'best people for the post' thing I was angling for.

Raven didn't say whether you had accepted, only that you had been asked. I'm just mentioning it as an example, since Jesus Whale did say he has approached people -- I'm wondering how many supported him after being approached, or for that matter how many pledged their support before he approached them for Hedjet positions as that would be relevant as well.

Again, I don't think anything intentionally improper happened, but given the parade of endorsements I think it's a valid question to ask so voters can be certain there isn't any political patronage going on.

As I've already made clear, I'm not implying any impropriety. But for the sake of transparency, I do think voters deserve to know how many people endorsing you have already been offered Hedjet positions at some point, or how many were offered those positions after pledging their support. It's not a matter of intentional impropriety, it's a matter of being transparent so everyone can be certain that everything is above board.

The two people I approached for Hedjet positions, in the last election, were asked after I had kept a lead of four votes for a few hours, and before Syl dropped out.

I haven't approached anyone regarding Hedjet spots during this current election cycle.

Aye, that makes perfect sense, Cormac. If I am to get a spot on the Hedjet that is not of my knowledge at this time.

The main reason I'm endorsing him comes to the fact that I am very opinionated, and like to show my support.

Thank you for the transparency, that's all I was asking. :P

Good luck again!
